Alfar Story - Évora House

Property was clean and well equipped. We loved the location away from the main tourist area but still a close enough walk to see the sights. Nuno, our host, was really helpful.

Washing machine gasket was full of mold which I cleaned

Really nice well decorated large 2bed/2bath groundfloor unit ,clean with all modern appliances large storage hot water ,within easy walk of everything free parking just outside walls and central to surrounding attractions .

The stairs and flooring above the courtyard bedroom can be noisy when people come and go but its only at those times .

We had a light breakfast each day during our visit. The kitchen is completely modern and well stocked. Our group loves coffee, so we brought extra Delta coffee capsules. The entire unit was very comfortable, and spacious. The two bathrooms were fully stocked, and pristine clean. The Alfar management provided a fact sheet that answered most questions. The unit itself is within walking distance of numerous fine restaurants. We were able to use WhatsApp successfully which greatly aided our arrival arrival.

Everything was wonderful. However, visitors must realize that Evora is a medieval city with extremely narrow cobblestone streets. Visitors must take great care walking the safe but uneven streets. Arriving at the Alfar site is somewhat confusing due to the extremely narrow streets, which are usually only one-way with limited access. Google Maps for arriving, searching out your restaurant choices, visiting the historic sites, and just finding your way back to Alfar House is absolutely necessary. We definitely plan to return.

Excellent location, easy to get to, comfortable space, quiet, ac, coffee pods, laundry detergent, plenty of towels.

Smelled a little musty

Easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions. Plenty of space for our group. Attentive hosts that answered any questions promptly.

The only thing that was missing was a spatula. Not sure where it went, but it made cooking eggs difficult.

Wifi worked so that was good and for a family it is probably suitable.

For a solo female traveler I did not feel safe to walk as the entrance is down a very narrow alley whereby due to a small car blocking the taxi and Uber could drive or pick me up at the door. Definitely walking around at night I would not recommend for a single female traveler. The fridge also needs a deodorizer as strong stench when I opened to look for water. Hopefully the cleaner sweeps the spider caught in a dust ball by the kitchen before the next guests arrive. This place did not meet my needs and I departed early.
