Villa Luna

Wir waren zu zweit mit unserem Hund für eine knappe Woche in Motovun und haben das Haus sehr geliebt. Und vor allem die Gastfreundschaft von Goran und seiner Frau waren sehr bemerkenswert. Die Lage im Ort war für uns perfekt. Ein kleiner Spaziergang hoch in die Stadt, eine kurzer schöner Fußweg runter zum hauseigenen Parklplatz. In der Hitze des Sommers bot das alte Haus erfrischende Kühle, wenn wir abends zurück kamen. Und auch die Abgeschiedenheit der Terrasse kam uns sehr gelegen.

Location and views spectacular and easier to park than expected. Character filled home with lots of idiosyncrasies of traditional homes. The pool and garden are delightful although a distance from the home with difficult access making it tricky to carry food and drinks there.

Finding the house and then finding the garden took time and effort especially since we were carrying bags for three nights and our food box. The accessibility and floorplan (bathroom on bottom, bedroom on top) needs to be more clearly articulated as this would have been untenable for some people.

We didn't stay in the property. As soon as we saw that the place didn't match the descriptions and the photos, we left the place. The location was wonderful, thats why we reserved it in the first place but unfortunately the most important thing, the pool, wasn't accessible as it was advertised.

Unfortunately, the accommodation did not match the photos and description provided in the listing. The pictures created a different impression of the property than what we found upon arrival. The main issue was the swimming pool. The description stated that the pool was part of the apartment, which led us to believe it was located directly on the property and available as an on-site facility. However, when we arrived, we discovered that the pool is approximately 100 meters away and is shared with other guests. This was not clearly stated in the listing. I believe the property should be represented with accurate photos and a more precise description so that guests can make an informed decision before booking. While the staff was polite and helpful, the discrepancy between the advertisement and the actual situation was disappointing. I hope the owners will update the listing to provide clearer and more transparent information for future guests.

This was truly a medieval house. Goran and Martina were warm and welcoming. We visited the Hill City of Motovun, Staying in their little house, (that dates back to the 1700’s) was perfect! It had all the conveniences of a modern house but retained the “old village feel”.

If you’re looking for something different and full of character, this place is a great choice.
