Chiff Chaff

On arrival, we were immediately impressed with the property - spotlessly clean, spacious, and they'd left a bottle of wine for us / a whole box of good quality treats for our dogs, and a dog towel for us to use. The bed is huge (two singles zipped together), and supportive - but we found it a tiny bit too firm (personal preference of course). Bathroom lovely - big shower, great water pressure, and heated towel rail. After about 20 mins we were already talking about booking for a whole week for next year.

Our only real complaint was that the property is incredibly noisy. Every time you turn on a tap, shower or flush the toilet there's a huge amount of noise throughout the whole property, and we could hear people next door when they coughed or spoke normally. We also found we couldn't use the telly in the lounge while the other person tried to sleep, even on very low volume. Unfortunately this would put us off staying for more than a night or two in the future - but we do have very different sleeping habits / bed times so a couple with more aligned bedtimes might find it easier. Especially if you're happy not to flush the loo or wash your hands during the night.

The blinds on the velux windows in the bedroom. They are impossible to close, because of the height of the ceiling.

Beautiful well presented cottage. Everything we needed. Really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location for our short holiday in Northumberland and extremely comfortable, also dog friendly. Staff were exceptionally helpful - we were disappointed with the hardness of the pillows and they provided replacement soft pillows the same day. Thoughtful touches included wine for us and a welcome pack for our dog !
