Casa dos Avos

Nos gustó absolutamente todo, desde la ubicación, la delicadeza en la decoración. Nos sentimos en casa totalmente, bueno, ojalá nuestra casa fuera tan preciosa. La casa es tan acogedora como lujosa, tiene todo lo que alguien pueda necesitar, comodidad, cocina totalmente equipada, salón precioso, chimenea, exterior... Todo lo que quieras y más. Además, la hospilidad de Vanessa y Luis es indescriptible. We absolutely loved everything, from the location to the attention to detail in the décor. We felt completely at home—well, we wish our own home were this beautiful. The house is as cozy as it is luxurious, with everything anyone could possibly need: comfort, a fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful living room, a fireplace… Everything you could want and more. Also, Vanessa and Luis’s hospitality is indescribable.

Nada, nos gustó absolutamente todo, sólo nos habría gustado estar muchos más días 😅. Nothing, we loved everything, we just couldn’t stay longer—we would have loved to spend many more days 😅.

Das Haus war sehr sauber und sehr ruhig gelegen. Wir liebten den Aussenbereich welcher definitiv als Highlight zu sehen ist. Man kann wunderbar in der Hängematte oder bei Barbecue entspannen. Die Besitzer waren immer erreichbar bei Frage oder Anliegen, als Plus und Beispiel wurde nach dem wir Schwierigkeiten hatten in den Innenhof einzuparken, die Straße und ein Schlagloch mit Teer ausgefüllt sodass wir problemlos die nächsten Tage einparken konnten. Wir bedanken und für den erholsamen und wunderschönen Aufenthalt und kommen gerne wieder!

The house was the perfect home for our time on Madeira. We liked the location in the southwest, from where we did all our daytrips. The view was phenomenal and the atmosphere quiet and peaceful. The house was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The communication with Vanessa was very good and friendly, she clearly also put effort into making the house very cozy. It was nice to have a big private parking lot which could be closed with a gate.

The street was very narrow, which felt a bit challenging (we got a bigger rental car than expected), but by going slowly and carefully, it was all fine and worked out well

La casa consta de una habitación tipo suitte con baño, una habitación doble y una cama individual en medio del pasillo. Podría decir que los colchones no son muy comodos. Es una casa pensada para máximo 4 personas. Tiene una cocina completa ,1 baño completo y un aseo, todo confortable. La terraza tiene buenas vistas y una mesa y la opción de poder hacer barbacoa. Es una zona tranquila, eso si, de la zona baja donde están los supermercados y restaurantes hasta la casa hay unos 13-14minutos en coche cuesta arriba ( a tener en cuenta).

Comodidad colchones

Es nuestra segunda vez en Madeira, y alojarnos en Casa dos Avos ha sido un plus. Si queréis disfrutar del silencio y conectar con la naturaleza no lo dudéis. La casa está muy bien equipada. Y tiene un jardín con unas vistas para perderse. Por ésto nos inclinamos a escogerlo.. Nos hizo una temperatura estupenda, nada de calor, aunque la casa cuenta con aire acondicionado.

Aunque dice que está preparado para 6 pax, para una pareja es lo ideal, a lo sumo 3 pax. Sólo un baño completo dentro de la habitación principal y un aseo en la planta baja. Un sofá de 2 plazas en el salón y ningún sitio más para sentarse. Aunque la mayor parte del tiempo lo pasas en el jardín.

Very cosy appartement with a beautifull view! Very nice starting point for exploring the island away from busy Funchal.

We enjoyed our stay. Of course, we enjoyed the terrace the most, the view is stunning! The hosts are very nice and willing, we truly felt welcomed in the house. Also, the accomodation is very nicely decorated, it truly feels as "home", not "a place to sleep over". Communication was smooth and we received all necessary informations in time. Upon arrival our flight was delayed for more than an hour and it was not a problem (since we received the keys from a person, who was waiting for our arrival). Definitely recommend!

Villa is big, comfortable bed and linen, beautiful terrace (although in January we didn’t get to use it much since it was windy or rainy due to being high up on the hill), host is very responsive.

When we arrived, the house was freezing—much colder than outside. It took 5 hours to warm up, though the host could have turned on the heater remotely. After a long flight, we expected a comfortable space to rest, but instead, I had to layer up, drink hot tea, and skip the shower. The bathrooms lacked soap, shower gel, and shampoo—the host claimed past guests had allergies. For 7 nights, we got only 4 small toilet paper rolls; when I asked for more, I was told extra wasn’t included (though the host later left 2 rolls on the door). No basic kitchen supplies like sugar, spices, or oil—small things that improve convenience. Also, be aware: the steep drive and tight parking make a small, high-clearance car the best choice.

Very nice and cosy house 😊 The owner has amazing taste and attention to details. Fully equipped kitchen, 2 spacious bedrooms and one more single bed, fireplace and terrace with breathtaking view. Felt really like home! Highly recommended.

Not such a thing !

We really liked it here, I appreciate the sense for decoration and older elements in the house. We felt very comfortable here, like at home and will definitely come back. Unforgettable is also the terrace and the view from it in the house there is absolutely everything you need, from shower shampons to kitchen appliances. The new device is air conditioning, so when it is colder outside, you can raise the temperature insaide The.internet is good in the living room next to the TV
