Complete inrichting en mooie locatie

Very comfortable property and we loved the decor, both inside and outside. Very relaxing and homely and we were able to totally switch off. It was also and excellent location to visit a lot of interesting places and our host, Tania, supplied us with lots of recommendations.

The stay was too short-we could have stayed much longer!

Bad maintenance in the house, cockroaches and ants in the kitchen on counter. When mentioning this to the host, she said this is normal due to the climate. The air inside feels moist and dusty, when opening any cupboard or drawer there is a bad smell. In several places doors or the cupboards are broken or not properly attached. The garden furniture is literally falling apart and could not be used. We had to wait for half an hour after the agreed time when checking in. The excuse from the host was that previous customers left the house very dirty and they had to clean. In our opinion they should have checked and fixed this before. One day after checking out we got a rude message from the host that we forgot to turn off some lights after we left. We found pointing this out by her very rude, especially since there was so many broken, dirty and bad maintained things in the house. Will not come back and wouldn't recommend it.

The place is a real gem, has a true madeira-like feeling, has spectacular views from the balcony, peace and quiet, private parking. We had az amazing time here, the location is a bit remote but certainly has its perks and perfect getaway with childrens even or for a group of few. Tania is an excellent host, responsive, kind, helpful.

As this is a house, expect a few roaches, mosquitos, spiders, ants, lizards. The bedroom could use a mosquito net.

Everything was good

One of the highlights of our stay was the ample space the house provided. It's large, with a spacious garden and a lovely terrace where we enjoyed watching the sunset. The interior decoration was charming and cozy, creating a pleasant atmosphere. We particularly appreciated the sense of security provided by the large automatic gate. The neighborhood is quiet, with a supermarket just a minute's walk away and several snack bars nearby. It's a short drive (10 mins) to Calheta beach. The host provided a complimentary basket of fruit, which was a thoughtful gesture and added a nice touch to our stay.

Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a few issues. Firstly, the host was not present at the agreed check-in time of 3:30 PM. We were informed very shortly beforehand that she would only arrive at 4:30 PM. The communication regarding this delay was not particularly friendly, with the host stating that we only had to wait "ONLY 30 minutes." As guests, we found this treatment rather off-putting; punctuality should be a given in hospitality. Additionally, on the second day in the accommodation, we noticed cleanliness issues, evidenced by cockroaches in the bathroom—one dead in a toothbrush holder and another alive. This suggested that the cleaning might have been rushed. Furthermore, there was a child's cot in the bedroom, positioned directly next to the bed, making it difficult to access the bed comfortably. The host was not very accommodating, simply suggesting we move it ourselves. The condition of the garden furniture was lacking, with broken armrests on the chairs, posing a potential safety hazard. Moreover, the driveway to the parking area is extremely steep, causing damage to the underside of our car. Navigating it safely requires a specific approach, which is not ideal. We feel that the price-quality ratio of the accommodation was not satisfactory. Given the issues we encountered during our stay, we expected a higher level of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall hospitality for the price paid. On a positive note, the host was otherwise very friendly and provided us with plenty of tips about the area.
