Charming 1-bed house in Chester by 53 Degrees Property, Ideal for Couples & Business, Amazing Location - Sleeps 4

Easy to get into the property, property was lovely, clean, and in a great location.

We asked for the beds to be split to 2 singles. Which wasn’t done, the owner did apologise, am not sure if was a communication issue between booking.com and the owner.

The location, comfortable, well-equipped for 2. Good local shops as well as in town itself .

The shower was erratic- difficult to regulate

Nice house walking distance to Chester centre. Kitchen is well equiped, house was clean and quiet. There are two pubs literally next door, but location still is very quiet. Supermarket just accross the road at petrol station with good selection of everything.

A lovely comfortable victorian terrace that feels like home, but needs some maintenance. Great 'village'-feel location just a short walk from the city centre, and a friendly (but quiet!) pub next door. I didn't find parking an issue at all - if I needed to park during the day on weekdays, there were usually bays without time restrictions available just 100 yards further up the street.

I was contacted (pestered?) frequently during my stay and often had to leave my key in the lock box on short notice because a tradesman or a cleaner was coming that day. I found this annoying because it felt as though there was often someone invading my privacy - perhaps deliberately to check up on me. Also opening the lock box on the dark wasn't easy so I much preferred to take the key with me. There was no attempt to combine two or more visits onto the same day or - dare I say it - provide a second key for them! And most frustratingly, the maintenance issues i raised (including one safety concern) *didn't* get fixed on any of those visits ... Otherwise, the TV had a habit of losing its wifi connection, and the landlord's T&Cs seemed pretty spicy so I booked through Booking.com so that they'd be able to help if there were any disputes.

Perfect space for a couple traveling. Easy walk to Chester City center. Loads of pubs and shops all around the area. Close to attractions...walk the Roman Wall, see the castle, cathedral and don't forget to feed the friendly squirrels at Grosvenor Park some nuts! Home is quirky with uneven floors & thresholds, be careful not to trip! But the bed is so comfortable and the kitchen equipped! Loved having a washing machine. Low water pressure for showering but stays hot! Property management very communicative.

Outdoor space is unusable (overgrown with thorny bushes and moldy pavers) The required mid stay clean had us put away our personal belongings and leave the property while being cleaned and pictures taken, felt a little intrusive.
