Craster Crew House

The house was a lot bigger than we expected and was extremely well equipped. Lovely welcome pack from the owners. There is free WiFi in the house but no phone signal in the village, which is sometimes a welcome advantage 😀

Good location and well equiped property.

Parking was tight and double bed on the soft side (for my liking).

This is a very well equipped and comfortable house with two decent sized bedrooms and a good single. The bed was comfortable with good pillows. The kitchen is large with everything you need for a self catering holiday. There is a decent sized lounge with a good TV, and a separate sunroom/ dining room that is heated and is comfortable to use even in the depths of winter. The place was absolutely spotlessly clean. The owners live next door and are friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent with sea views from the house and the costal path is only a 100 meters away with spectacular walks along the seafront and sandy beaches a few minutes walk. Craster and the surrounding area is beautiful. The village also has a traditional pub with a decent restaurant serving amazing seafood, as well as something for those who prefer terrestrial meals.

Very little. It presently has only one bathroom/ toilet so not ideal for 4 adults, but that is being addressed with the imminent installation of a downstairs toilet.

Keys in a drop box easy to collect. Owners who live adjacent house were very good to us when there was a power cut and also when we needed to use a wifi connected phone. Note there is no phone signal in Craster but your mobile MAY allow wifi calling. Also the hosts gave us some good local recommendations for lunch in Alnwick which we found to be excellent.

Google maps has a marker for the crew house which is slightly inaccurate. It is very near the dropped pin. However, this is a minor point as the hospitality was excellent.

Fantastic location in village and for visiting the local area. Well equipped, everything we needed for a self catering holiday.

Mattress in double bedroom has seen better days, could do with replacing, informed hosts and they are addressing.

Location and views were great. Very well equipped, comfortable property. Nice and quiet. Fabulous for kids as there is a soprano playground and a football field just there.
