High Hopes, Harbour Location with Sea Views

location was excellent, the beds were comfy and linen was lovely. the view from the living area was stunning. The apartment was very comfortable. Everything you need is there. WiFi connection was good.

Finding the apartment was not that easy. Also very narrow and steep steps into the property. Not really able to drop off cases as the entrance is at the back of the property. A little walk upto the apartment. Not a suitable apartment if you have any mobility issues. The towels provided were tiny. Need some bath sheets.

Very central Location. Outside space was lovely in the evening as the lights twinkled over the harbour. Welcome biscuits and fizz were much appreciated. Beds were very comfy.

Entrance to property could have been a little cleaner/ more appealing.

The steps into the property, they were extremely steep and narrow they were like steps to a castle dungeon, advertised as 20 but actually 28. We have stayed in Brixham a few times and there are always steps but we felt these were not correctly described, don’t think this is a suitable place for children either,.

The steps were very steep. No freezer on arrival was a shame though we were notified just before arrival. No BBQ as expected

The views from garden and window to the front , unbeatable. Bathrooms nicely finished and showers in good order and work well ( shame about the toilet)

Garden unkept , old brown leaves not swept all around garden furniture. Litter stuffed in side of one of chairs . Cushions on garden furniture photos are only on seat ,no back or stool cushions ( despite photos showing otherwise). No bbq ( despite photos and messages stating otherwise). No parking permit ( despite messages stating otherwise). Fridge not cold enough, broken shelves in door . Towels not big enough. Sofa seen better days . En-suite toilet didn’t flush ( rectified by plumber during stay). Blind in bedroom fell off. Saucepan filthy with either custard or mushy pea like substance . Knifes and forks had food leftovers on them.Free parking advertised means if you can find a space nearby on a road ( not a car park).

Not adequately prepared. Relies on the large windows to give the wow factor but all the seagull poo on the windows spoilt that. Seagulls - seaside, yes, but windows were filthy on arrival and got no worse during our stay! Window latches broken, filthy window frames, blind in one bedroom barely attached, broken and fell down when closing on 1st night.tissues and sweet wrappers under the single bed. Kitchen bin caked with grease. Ensuite toilet would not flush… cocky staff member came round when I reported it in the morning, (they were supposed to call me when on their way, but didn’t), flushed it instantly. I asked for the trick, and she said I probably expected it to be like an ordinary toilet (yes, strangely!) but seems you have to pump the handle three times then it flushes. Thanks for that! Kitchen not properly cleaned, crumbs in cutlery tray, old, stained dish sponge, gross! Detailed instructions left re where to find patio seat cushions and warning to replace for next guests…. The cushions were already there, the chair seats full of leaves, dirt and lolly wrappers. Glass table covered with apparently clean cover… it had actually been turned inside out to appear clean…it was actually filthy with seagull poo as was the table top. Disgusting. Main bedroom looks out on dirty old roof, window handles dodgy, window frames disgustingly dirty (I have photos but not posting here). Shower hard to access. The access is poorly described. I’ve been to Brixham many times and know there are lots of steps and hard to access some properties. The outside gate rarely stayed closed. The steps down to the front door are very steep, narrow and winding and uneven, and the handrail stops short of the end of the flight..dangerous. Almost impossible to get anything bigger than a cabin sized bag down to the property. The outside area was full of leaves and needed tidying and a good sweep. Curiously, the lengthy guest instructions seem to relate to a different, named property.

Location perfect - very central The property rental company phoned on the first morning to make us aware of the Cryptosporidium outbreak in the area. We very much appreciated the warning

Very steep stairway to property but this had been pointed out previously in the property description There were 2 or 3 maintenance issues with the property that need rectifying but they were not enough to spoil our break
