"Wonderful Character Cottage, conveniently placed for town. Great views especially from upper terrace"

7.0

Loved the character of the place and how close it was to the harbour and main town.

There is no parking at the property and the road outside does not allow any parking either (double yellow lines) so that leaves 3 options: 1. Park in a town, harbour car park and pay every day/night 2. Park on one of the roads above and behind the cottage (steep climb up some steps several times over) 3. Park on the hill at the end of the road if you're lucky enough but risk scratches to your vehicle as narrow road. Kitchen a little on the small side to be of any real use but we got by.

"Very pleasant weekend stop."

We loved the open fire and the closeness to the town

Finding the property in the dark was a challenge, although the instructions were clear. Parking was a 15 minute walk from the property.

Full of character and the location was stunning

The shower - I know that the owners are aware of the lack of pressure - but it really was awful!

Lovely cute cottage, great location

Hard to find, the shower was dangerously hot and a risk! The living room could be so much more comfortable after a long day exploring. A comfortable sofa and study table and chairs, it felt like the items in the room weren't made for the cottage IKEA chairs almost broken.

"Clean and comfortable but difficult to find some where to park close by,"

The settee and beds were comfortable and the property was clean with a kitchen with all you need. Lovely secure front garden for a little dog.

Getting a parking space was not easy

"Very pleasant stay."

All good everything was as advertised. It was steps and hilly but it is Brixham.Front and rear patios so somewhere to sit in the sun or shade all day.Compact but comfortably compact.

Instructions to work shower and the TV(but I don`t watch TV at home so more my problem).

"A delightful character cottage for a short stay in Brixham."

7.0

Gerry's cottage is conveniently located near to the main port area of Brixham, with pubs and restaurants nearby. Brixham is best explored on foot, particularly as the roads are narrow, steep, and parking spaces are at a premium. The property includes a small front garden with seating safely away from the road, which is ideal for relaxing, and watching the world go by.

The host is aware, but some of the photos of the property on the booking site are not up to date, especially the rear terrace seating area, but the views from there are still fabulous, and it's a nice place for evening drinks, especially at 8pm when the church bells will chime out 'Abide with Me'. Unloading on arrival is not that easy given most roads nearby are restricted parking, but you can briefly park near the church, and backtrack about 50 yards to the front door of the property, accessed via the terrace steps of the property next door. (I didn't witness any traffic wardens lurking) ! Cars are then best parked about 10 minutes walk away near the Battery Park, where you can find some unrestricted parking places for a few days.
