Book and Bed

Everything was perfect. Our host, Mario, kindly rescued us when we got lost trying to reach the property by car ... there is a garage behind the property. Breakfast was not provided but there are many places to eat in the vicinity. The property is on a quiet street in the heart of Orvieto. It is spread over two floors, well furnished, bursting with books (Book &), meticulously tidy and clean, and has an excellently equipped kitchenette on the balcony overlooking the dining area below. There are two sleeping spaces (Bed) - an upstairs bedroom with a double bed and a downstairs living room with a comfortable large double sofa bed - both with their own bathrooms. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Great stay! The place was clean, cozy, and in a fantastic location. The host was super helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

This is a very special place. Although I am unable to read Italian, I was absolutely charmed to find myself able to roam around perusing the stacks of old and new, large- and small-format books. Had I been able to read them, I may not have left the apartment at all, which would have meant that I had no chance to explore Orvieto! This is a comfortable, nontraditional apartment. It was absolutely clean, the bed was comfortable, and the neighborhood quiet. The kitchen was equipped for basic cooking---and provided TWO espresso makers. Lots of interesting restaurants are a few moment's walk away. Despite the provision of maps and instructions, we had some trouble navigating our to the apartment and garage. After we'd checked in, Mario was very generous in driving ahead of us to guide us to the location.

What a beautiful house/apartment to stay in. It's in a great location although I had a little trouble finding it as it's tucked away but Mario met me a I followed him in the car as he walked the way...The place was spotless, comfortable, everything work, it was full of books, quiet. I loved it and my only regret is that I only stayed one night.

There wasn't anything I didn't like but if I stayed there for a week or more, it'd be nice to have laundry.

Mario met us at the apartment to give us the keys, show us around, and answer our questions. He was kind and very helpful. The central location was amazing! We were especially thankful for it was so central when we had to go back to get something we forgot over and over! Haha. Just our brains ageing faster than we would like. One thing to be aware of, there are a lot of vehicles at all hours of the day and night driving quickly by. It did not prevent sleeping but you want to watch for cars before coming out the door. Upon entering, you are in a nice dining room with a table and comfortable seating. There is also a living room, surrounded by books, and a bathroom with shower on this ground level. The pull out sofa bed was comfortable for sleeping and for sitting to watch television. Back in the entry you can see the beautiful stairs leading up to the kitchen and bedroom. The wooden stairs and banister are pretty and functional. The kitchen is well equipped and creatively set up. There is an induction stove, good sized fridge and freezer. There were ice-cube trays so we could make ice! The bedroom is off of the kitchen. It is large, has books lining the walls, the room is very comfortable. The bed was clean, had nice bedding, and was also comfortable. There is a water closet and separate shower in the bedroom. There were towels and nice robes for our use. Just watch your head as you come out of the room - it is a low doorway. There was a loud thunderstorm one of our evenings & it was so lovely to listen to the thunder and rain and to just feel so comfortable in this beautiful home. It was a privilege to stay here! We highly recommend it! Oh yes, I wanted to mention - after we checked out Mario contacted me to let me know they found a ring and to ask it it was ours. It turns out that my sister left her ring, that was a gift from her child. Mario was quick to suggest an option to get the ring returned to her. He went above & beyond! Thank you, Mario!

The only thing is there wasn't much in the way of toiletries. There is a store close by that we purchased shampoo and soap at so it did not impact our overall stay.
