"Cozy and warm traditional Irish cottage"

8.0

Traditional Western Irish cottage. The fire was a real treat. Comfy beds.

Lack of TV (particularly when the weather can be so unpredictable).

"Perfect cottage retreat"

10.0

We liked that it was dog friendly and the gardens surrounding it have little pathways and a stream to explore. The thatched cottage is traditional and cosy. Wood burning fire is great.

Perhaps a bit more closed off for dog. Ours was well behaved though.

"Lovely cottage close to everything but a world away!"

8.0

We had a wonderful stay at this whimsical little cottage in Dungloe. It’s beautifully cosy and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a really comfortable stay. The location is ideal close to Dungloe town, beaches, and within easy reach of Glenveagh National Park, making it a perfect base for exploring Donegal. One of the highlights was the lovely stream running through the property, which added to the peaceful, magical feel of the place. It’s also exceptionally dog‑friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. A truly special spot that we’d happily return to.

"Fantastic would hesitate to book again!"

10.0

So many things to love about this place, the cottage itself is so cosy, clean, has all facilities you could need, hot water, comfy beds, beautiful fire and fuel. The outdoor spaces were fantastic so quirky and fun, great to dander about with our dog. The views and surroundings were stunning. The info pack provided by our hosts was fantastic. Shops and lovely beaches just a short drive. The whole place has been very thoughtfully created, a lot of effort and interesting wee details just added to the experience.

"A cosy cottage and peaceful retreat in nature"

10.0

We absolutely loved everything about our stay at The Rockhouse. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished, with everything you could possibly need provided. The wood-burning stove is wonderfully cosy, the games room is great and the setting made it a perfect retreat in nature. The location is ideal: easy to find, close to rugged beaches, viewpoints, and the peat bogs, and just a short drive from Dungloe town. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with welcoming, friendly, and helpful hosts, this is the place to be, whatever the weather!
