"A very pleasant stay in a traditional Devon seaside cottage"

9.0

The location near the beach and the cafes/pub in Shaldon was perfect. The cottage has been renovated but still has traditional beams, period features and furniture, and it feels very cosy and authentic as well as being warm and comfortable. Tall people have to duck going through doors which remind you of how old the building is. The outside toilet caused much amusement in our family but was in fact useful. The kitchen and main bathroom all functioned well with enough hot water for baths which we hadn't enjoyed in a long time and added to our sense of nostalgia.

In retrospect we would not have brought the car as parking is pretty tight and the little roads round the cottage are best avoided with a larger vehicle.

"The location of the property allowed me to walk to met friends who were also staying in Shaldon"

8.0

Location of cottage was exactly what I wanted.

The arrangement of shower facilities in the bathroom. The shower was a hand held device from the taps which did the job but very clumsy.

"Lovely cottage. Great Location. Good value."

8.0

Great location and very quiet. Historic and original cottage features make this a memorable visit ! Cottage sympathetic modernisation but still comfortable. Good access to village shop cafe's and three pubs including the Ness Hotel...the Botanical gardens and the ferry service. we came by train and bus so parking not a problem for our visit.

All Good.

Had a lovely stay in this quaint and characteristic cottage, an excellent base for exploring the local area, and our toddler loved playing with all the beach toys!

Facilities are simple - as would be expected for a cottage this old!

Fab location quaint little cottage .

The banister was slightly wobbly but to be expected considering the age of the cottage.

"Was a bit run down , wouldn’t return ."

5.0

It was close to get about from

The old lounge furniture, low door frames - not great when you’re tall . No parking , yet someone constantly parked their car in front of our Dolphin Cottage & they were staying over the way from us - seemed unfair as we had to set our alarm to be up & out to move the car from the car parks every morning before 9.00am . No bed side light in the twin bedroom.
