"Our experience with friends and family no for our actual occasion ( our wedding) was fantastic. It would have been wonde"

7.0

The character, the open plan space and the ability to have front and back doors open and people coming in and out was brilliant.

The downstairs double bedroom had a very strong unpleasant smell. I thought originally it was a cat smell but after investigating we realised the mop bucket and hoover that were in the cupboard were the cause of the stink. We put them by the door to the patio and opened windows. We had to buy air fresheners and it took at least 3 days for the smell to dissipate. Also, the shower in the en suite did not work. The carpets also seem very dirty which we realise is inevitable when a property is used so much but wood flooring would be better.

"Wonderful property for a large family get together"

8.0

It's a wonderful place to stay, especially if you have a large family. Lots of cutlery and crockery, and it had been cleaned up to a good standard. The beds were comfortable, and thankfully the whole house stayed cool. It was 24 degrees outside, but lovely and cool inside.

We couldn't get the shower to work in the ensuite ground floor bedroom. Also, the area leading to the garden would be better laminated or tiled as the cream carpet needed hoovering daily to clear up the grass and leaves brought in on footwear. Still, a very enjoyable stay. .

Mooie en rustige locatie.

Douche beneden werkte niet. Huis was over het algemeen niet proper: haren in de lavabo, overal stof, spinnenwebben, kruimels, muffe kasten vol met spullen.

"Very disappointed and disruptive to what was to be a family celebration. Not good value for money."

4.0

Beautiful building that could be made a 100% better, by improving the hot water system and providing a clear guide to operating and problem solving facilities in the house.

We arrived on Easter Saturday to find no hot water! This trip was to celebrate significant birthdays and a wedding anniversary celebration. There were seven of us, to include two seventy five year olds and a six year old child. We could find no instructions apart from a phone number to call to activate a remote system to gain more hot water. We phoned, but no results. I communicated four times with the Host & Stay agency on the Saturday and an engineer finally arrived around 8.30 p.m., in the evening. He could not fix the problem, but was able to access an outbuilding which had no light to look at the boiler, using his phone as a torch. We could not access this building to look at the boiler, as we had no key. The engineer said that he would not be able to get parts to repair on Easter Sunday and would try on the Monday. On Easter Sunday the hot water miraculously came back on, I did not tell the agency until mid afternoon, leaving a message as there was no answer on the phone. Early evening the hot water went off again. I telephoned the host agency again on the Monday morning, I communicated with them by phone several times on that day. An engineer arrived mid morning and was able to fix the problem and we once again had hot water. We had three days of disruption, cold showers and constantly boiling the kettle to get any hot water. There are no clear instructions for dealing with any potential problems on the Host and Stay guide and no printed information within the chapel. We also found it irritating that only one toilet roll was provided for each toilet, we ended up buying additional rolls, plus washing up liquid and a cleaning sponge for the sink. There was no sponges and a quarter of a bottle of washing up liquid provided. We paid a lot of money for our six day visit, but do not feel that it was of good value because of the inconvenience and disruption caused by no hot water, having to keep phoning the host and stay agency over a three day period.

"Lovely building that could use a bit more attention to make it fantastic. We would stay again."

7.0

The location is great with some se views and quite farms around the old school house. The space is great for big groups with a huge open plan kitchen/diner and living room. Plenty of bathrooms and space inside to spread out. We did get a partial refund because of the issues mentioned below.

The place is clearly managed by an agency rather than the owner, The cleanliness was OK, the dishes weren't that clean because the dishwasher needs attention to work correctly. A bed collapsed in the middle of the night (whilst people slept in it). One of the showers didn't work, the toaster tripped the fuse cupboard and we had no hot water for a couple of days.
