The Lodge in the Loch

The location was ideal with views of the Loch and Old Msn of Storr. The house was lovely and was well equipped -the washer with laundry soap and dryer was really convenient to wash our hiking gear. They stocked the kitchen with breakfast foods including milk, orange juice, eggs, oatmeal as well as fruit, bread, lunch meat,cheese and chips and cookies. So thoughtful! We had no need to run to the grocery.

We loved it all.

Everything was wonderful! Amazing lodge with great location. Nigel provided some great snacks, a nice surprise upon arrival. Interior of the lodge is modern and well outfitted. Beds were very comfortable. 4 miles into Portree, 3 miles to Old Man of Storr. Easy access to the entire island. A wonderful base camp for exploring the beauty of Skye.

Bathroom setup is a little awkward but workable.

Beautiful stay. The home was so comfy and we appreciated the food basket gifted at arrival. The views were spectacular and there was a small swing set and rock wall outdoors that our boys loved. Short drive to Portree for groceries or eating out. Would definitely stay here again!

Not a dislike- but this property is right on the water. We had small children, so just need to be extra attentive of children next to the lake and freeway.

We were both surprised and pleased with the fruit, bread and wine that were provided in the home when we arrived. Very nice touch and it was much appreciated.

Absolutely nothing

The Lodge in the Loch exceeds expectations in every possible way. The attention to detail of each room and all amenities are absolutely splendid. Our arrival was greeted with a pantry of items in the kitchen which provided yummy snacks and beverages for our family. The wood burning fireplace such a bonus with lots of lovely firewood to curl up to music, cards and reading in the evenings after partaking in the inspiring hikes on the Isle of Skye. It was a long journey for us and we are so very grateful to have called this lovely accommodation home. Do hope our paths will cross again someday. Thank you Nigel for your most amazing hospitality, vision for this exceptional experience.

Location was amazing. Close to town, within short drive to major north island sights. We felt like we were on our own private Loch! The house was warm and welcoming. Perfect spot to come back to after a long day exploring. The house and all of the amenities were up to date but it still felt rustic. We would recommend to anyone.

The location was great, just 4 miles north of Portree allowing us a good starting point as we explored the Isle of Skye. The home is located right on the bank of Loch Fada with a stunning view of the Old Man of Storr (which we hiked!) :). The home is thoughtfully decorated using antiques and artwork from local crafts people. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms are unique. Having an historic home ourselves in NH, USA, I know how creative you have to be when adding modern plumbing to an antique home. The home is a solid crofter's cottage made of thick stone walls painted white, feels like you are stepping back in time and yet, the interior is welcoming and comfortable. Loved it!

Location is amazing. Cottage is amazing. Beds very comfortable. Outlook with views of Old Man of Storr from the living room is amazing. Welcome pack of bread, milk, eggs, tea, coffee & more was excellent.
