Windsor Retreat in shadow of the Castle.

The location was great and really central. Property was easy to find. The bedrooms and living space were a good size. Kitchen was equipped with everything you’d need.

The spiral staircase isn’t family friendly, we stayed with two small children. The master bedroom doesn’t have on-suite so if you need to use the bathroom in the night you have to take on the spiral stairs. The property offers a cot for babies up to 1 yr but there isn’t a mattress to use with it but not noted meaning we had to come up with alternative sleeping arrangements for our baby.

Really close to Windsor

The list of do’s and don’t made us feel like we were under the hitler regime , the house could do with a really good scrub and the nightclub will keep you awake all night!

Location in terms of proximity to Windsor is great, nice full size kitchen and plates/utensils.

Next to FOUR night clubs which kept this light sleeper awake. Shower does not drain well. Shower temp was lukewarm and variable. Host was messaged and emailed without response. 10 am check out is a bit early

Central location, comfy beds, good kitchen facilities for single night stay.

Key lockbox would not open with code provided had to phone property host to get correct code. Hairdryer provided was very very small. Strong smell of damp in only bathroom.

Location was excellent

We requested a cot for our baby which was agreed to, but was not there. A message raising this issue was not replied to. The coffee machine in the pictures was on top of the fridge with no coffee pods provided. The heating was off so when we arrived mid November late afternoon it was absolutely freezing and our children had to keep their coats on for an hour until it warmed up. None of the tv remotes worked, there were bulbs not working in most lamps and damaged furniture throughout, the main bathroom door handle was hanging off the door Overall the whole place needs money spending on it and given the cost, it was very poor value for money.

The house was very warm and comfortable. The location was excellent. The host was very accommodating and let us arrive early and also let us leave our luggage there after check out.

Location is central.

No parking available. £30 a day 9am-9pm, very costly by end of trip. We turned up at 5pm and the house hadn't been cleaned. Took a while to get hold of landlord who said they would send 2/3 cleaners asap as there were 3 bedrooms to be changed and cleaned. We then had to leave the house for nearly two hours when 1 cleaner turned up. When we came back beds were changed ECT, bins were changed but place wasn't hoovered. Place wasn't that clean and was rather cold. 2 kids and 1 adult slept in one bed to keep warm. Just 1 shower in entire house. Says you are in the shadow of the Castle. Must walk a good 10 minutes until see castle, but it is rather central. When we rang the landlord he wasn't very helpful, just said he was sending cleaner. Didn't really care about the inconvenience. Add says Netflix, Disney and sky. Had to log into your own Netflix, no Disney, no sky channels just basic free to air. TV in top bedroom didn't work either. TV would turn on but no sky subscription to watch channels and no apps for Netflix ECT.
