Not sure where to start honestly... To get to the location you have to drive on a very narrow and very steep road with very tight bends and without any lights at night. Once you arrive there you'll be surprised to find that the cabin doesn't really have any views as it's hidden behind some trees and you have another cabin in front. The conservatory door can't be locked and to unlock and lock the front door it's a real challenge. Once you manage to unlock the front door you will be hit by a heavy mouldy air it literally made our nostrils hurt. In the first cupboard we opened in the kitchen, a huge spider was hanging on a spider web and all the corners in all the rooms were ornamented with intricate spiderwebs with dead bugs hanging on them. The oven was something I have no words to describe and definitely not something you would put your food in. The fridge was decent and the hob was quite new but there was no dishwasher liquid so you have to buy your own. And the pans and pots looked like they were used in WWII. The small bedroom "if you can call it that" it's pretty much a matchbox with a bunk bed where 2 people can't really fit. There were dead bugs under the bedside cabinet and rubbish underneath the bed. The smell was horrible, impossible to sleep there if you want to wake up the next day and not die of suffocation. The main bedroom was decent in size so we squeezed in the 3 of us. But the smell of mould and the spiders weren't missing from there either. The bathroom was decent but if you were to consider the colour of the water you wouldn't dare to wash yourself. We didn't. :) If you are planning to go and stay (although I wouldn't recommend it), be prepared with dishwasher liquid, paper towels and bin bags and eventually some cleaning products (we had to buy them to be able to stay there). We booked 4 nights but left after 2 as we couldn't bear to spend a third night there.

"Not as expected"

It was the location I needed to stay to view properties I wanted to view to buy

Cobwebs an spider webs in both bedrooms, even nesting. Half eaten chocolate bar under bed Fridge full of mould which cleaner returned to remove but used bleach so was unusable. Owner advised and apologised but offered no compensation for the loss of £80 worth of food. All kitchen contents were either unusable or sticky. I’ve travelled in a camper van for the last two yrs and stayed in around 40 holiday let’s, this one is the only one I’ve felt the need to say anything negative about. I actually stayed a few months previously in the property opposite owned by this owner and it was immaculate and couldn’t fault it.

"a good place for calm and solitude."

6.0

the location is great - good views, easy to get to Aberdovey and Machynlleth. the quietness was ideal for us.

the garden is now overgrown and the conservatory door is not lockable. the instruction book needs updating. when we arrived, we read that we needed one pound coins to pay for the electricity meter. we panicked and drove to a Coop to get some coins but discovered when we returned that we didn't need them.. it would help to know ahead of time that the water is not drinkable..

The place has beautiful views. The lodge is spacious with a view of the mountain. It was nice to chill out in the front dinning area, as there is a fireplace and comfy furniture. The lodge was clean and well equipped, with fresh bedding and towels.

The way to that lodge is up to the massive hill so if you have a car with a small engine you struggle to go up lol You can't lock the lodge with a key.

"We will be staying again."

A beautiful location set in the hill side above the estuary. Quiet and quite homely. the interior of the chalet was good.

The site is generally tired but this is obviously deuteriation over a long period of time and would require a lot of money for an uplift.
