Chiara, the owner, was an excellent host. She picked us up from the airport, which was unexpected, and showed us around her beautiful ground floor apartment, which was full of old world charm. The welcome pack was the best we have ever had in all the years we have travelled around the world, Chiara could not have thought of anything else to leave us. The bed mattress and the pillows were the most comfortable we have ever had either in self catering apartments or hotels. There was also a large selection of cleaning materials and washing liquids, etc for us to use. The apartment was situated in an ideal location, there was a bus stop at the end of the street with buses into the harbour bus station every ten minutes. There was also a delightful walk down Via Garibaldi to the centre of the city which took approximately 20 minutes. The San Benedetto indoor market was also at the end of the street with the most amazing selection of meat, bread, fruit and vegetables. Trains and buses were available regularly from the station to other areas of the island, all at a very reasonable cost.

Not sure how Chiara could improve on what she is offering at this property.

The welcome we received from Chiara was wonderful. She greeted us warmly despite the fact we arrived late due to a flight delay. Chiara showed us around the whole home so that knew where everything was and how to use everything. There were so many warm and welcoming touches that we really appreciated. We really enjoyed waking up, getting the coffee maker (that Chiara kindly showed us how to use) ready and walking a few metres to the bakery to collect pastries for breakfast that was included in our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the lounge area was lovely to relax in in the evenings. We could not believe how generous she had been with the supplies provided in the bathrooms, bedroom, fridge and the welcome food and drinks. She truly makes sure her guests are comfortable and feel welcome!

Having to leave…

A splendid and very well maintained house, right in the heart of Cagliari. Spacious and very comfortable. Well equipped with everything you need, as our host Chiara has thought of everything (from all sorts of toiletries to lots of spare towels and kitchenware). Comfortable beds, pillows and nice soft bedlinen. Chiara and Fidel are obviously hard working to achieve that perfect cleanliness throughout the house, and with brilliant clean bathrooms. Everything in the house is in a good working order - from air conditioners (we used the heat mode) to kitchen appliances and washing machine, to bathrooms and everything. There is a new modern heating + hot water system. We stayed for ten days in December there, and it was so nice and warm in late evenings, captivated by the charm of this typical old Sardinian house. Every little detail speaks a lot about Sardinia history and traditions. Fidel says it's all because of Chiara's love of making the house homely and cozy. Chiara and Fidel are an amazing couple! Very hospitable and caring. We were welcomed very friendly, with a drink and appetizers. And they left food and drinks for us in the fridge. We most liked the Italian style espresso coffee machine that starts singing when coffee gets ready. And we also enjoyed the fresh pastries which Chiara had ordered for us and we took them every morning from the Manuel pasticceria just on the opposite. Our hosts don't speak English but thanks to the Translate app we had great communication with them. Chiara kept in touch with us through WhatsApp all the time. She told us a lot of useful information as well as interesting facts about the history and traditions of their land. She was actually our tour guide. San Benedetto Market is just two minutes walk. There are lots of shops, cafeterias and pizzerias just a stone throw of the house. After all, we had a great stay here and would love to visit Cagliari again, and stay again in the Casa dell'Artista, of course!

Warm welcoming with delecious treats in the middle of the night. Well equipped (towels for beach, cosmetics, dishes) spacious house. Great location, close to San Bernardetto market and historic center. Tasty, fresh breakfest from bakery nearby. Delecious coffe and a lot of snacks and cookies avaiable. Chiara was super helpful, gave us a lot of tips and we had excellent communication before and during our stay.

We have never met such kind hosts as Chiara and her husband. Our flight was delayed, we kept in touch via What’s App and they were waiting for us on arrival. Wow! What a welcome we were given with a huge platter of fresh fruit as well as cheeses, sausage and olives and a spritz cocktail! So lovely!! The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything you could wish for. A proper kitchen with coffee maker, gas cooker, microwave and all necessary crockery and pots and pans if you want to cook at home. As the place is only minutes from the fantastic San Bernadetto market there is no shortage of inspiration to cook at home which we did a few times because the produce is so great. Chiara also provides olive oil, fresh and dried herbs, garlic and even emergency pasta and sauce! In the fridge was milk and water and butter…so many useful things so that you don’t need to rush out to the shops. So thoughtful and caring. All toiletries from shampoo and shower gels to toothpaste and cotton wool were provided which is great if travelling by plane. The shower is quite small but the water pressure is great and nice and hot. There is also a washing machine and detergent provided. In the cupboards are lots of spare towels and a fresh change of bedding. We found the bed and pillows very comfortable. The house is so quirky with lots of lovely details. You enter through a large doorway into a peaceful courtyard and there are stairs up to a small balcony where you can look down onto the local small square. There is a place to dry your clothes and also a drying rack is provided which is great if you have visited the beach or done some washing. Chiara also provides items for the beach like umbrellas and seats, towels and even sunscreen. She has thought of everything!! Such care and attention to detail I have never experienced before. The best hospitality ever.
