Rock View

Gorgeous cottage which has been beautifully renovated. It is really spacious inside and has great facilities. The kitchen is well equipped, we cooked a couple of times and ate in the dining room which has nice views if you both sit facing the windows! The lounge is beautiful with 2 huge sofas and a lovely chaise-lounge in the window, a nice spot for reading. The bedroom is a good size and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is small-medium and has a good shower. The outdoor space isn't quite what I expected and is quite small with no views (I assumed there was a view given the name of the place!)but it has a table and chairs and pretty planting; a couple of deckchairs or reclining garden chairs would be a good addition. The village is sweet and there is a nice pub with a garden which has stunning views around 15 minutes walk away. The location of the cottage is fantastic if you have a car as you can visit so many beautiful places for hikes etc.

The lack of views and the garden is very enclosed and overlooked and has no comfortable chairs to relax in. The weather was amazing when we were there so it would have been nice to be able to sit out and have a glass of wine. The table/chairs are wrought iron and look pretty but are not comfortable to sit on for very long. On the plus side this forced us out to the local pub and that has amazing views from the garden!

Rock View was perfect! Clean and tidy with everything we needed for a nice little weekend away. The location was perfect for the walks we had planned too.

A very peaceful, private location. The house was well appointed and there were some thoughtful touches e.g milk in fridge plus tea and coffee .

I was self-catering. Location for walking was excellent. Very quiet.

I couldn't get the key box to work and had to be rescued by the proprietor. I like to patronise local food shops but these were disappointing. Getting to the property was a problem because of the work on the sewerage system. The instructions to find the property would have been fine if I been able to get to the presumed starting point.

A beautiful property in the heart of Froggatt. Delightful period features with a lovely sunny terrace. Large rooms provide space to unwind and relax. Kathy the owner was friendly and approachable. The location is a great place to start many walks along the river Derwent and Froggatt Edge but also further afield. We will return.
