beautiful location and warm, cosy house. Fire set for our arrival, milk and tea bags provided. Plenty of cooking equipment provided. We had a chance encounter with the home-owner whilst out on a walk who was a very friendly host.

Nothing I'd have changed

Lovely accommodation, lots of space. we particularly liked the lounge with the cosy log fire and separate dining room adjoining the large kitchen. We were met outside the cottage by our charming host who explained heating etc and places to visit. There is a comprehensive book of suggested walks and places to eat but it needs a little updating as some pubs are now closed. However our favourite , The Chequers was open and wonderful for drinks after a tiring day out or a beautiful dinner on our last night. Easy to walk to so long as you don't mind a bit of an uphill! Froggatt is a great base for seeing the east and central Peak District especially but maybe a bit far for the part west of Buxton. Don't miss hiring bikes (we went electric) from Hassop station on the Monsal trail.

It was no problem for us but there is only on road parking about 50m away up about 7 steps. There are also steps between some of the rooms so Rock Cottage may not suit those with walking difficulties.

Lovely cottage with everything you could wish for. Lots of space and handily located for great walks and Monsal Trail parkrun. Really appreciated the milk and cookies. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break.
