The Old Sweet Shop

I chocolate box house. Very spacious with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a very well equipped kitchen including 2 stoves and even more ovens, and 3 sofas in the living room. Even the garden provides quiet corners on several levels. For the kids, the hot tub was a big plus, daily serviced by an extraordinarily friendly team. Only 10 minutes downhill to Minehead city center and uphill access to nice walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Sweet Shop.

Nothing, it‘s just perfect.

A lovely stay here with my partner and two-year-old. Our boy loved running down the hallway, the big bath and exploring the garden. The cottage was immaculately clean, with everything we needed for a short getaway. Thanks to Lucy and team, great communications and thanks Steve for the do’s and don’ts on the hot tub! We hope to stay here again soon

Delightful thatched cottage with 4 bedrooms. each one was individual and honestly I’d be happy to sleep in any of them. Unlike some places I’ve stayed in, there is plenty of room for everyone to sit round the kitchen table and in the sitting room, ditto plates, knives/forks/glassware. plenty of toys for my grandchildren to play with. One fridge and one fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, huge hob/oven, microwave, toaster, huge TV - nothing missing here! The cherry on this particular cake is a hot tub in the garden - amazingly this was cleaned every day! Thank you Gail :) the house was spotless and a cake on arrival was very much appreciated by all! We’d ordered a breakfast pack from Minehead's Stuart Lowen Farmshop local (via Lucy and delivered in time for our arrival) and this was really tasty and 100% recommended. communication was first class and Lucy’s catch up call beforehand gave me an opportunity to ask any questions. pre-booking information was likewise first class and once we’d arrived, the information in the folders was so helpful for us to plan our days. we will definitely be back!

it had everything you need for a great holiday .The kitchen was really well equipped .The hot tub was well maintained by the lady who came every morning to check it .The garden is lovely with lots off seating areas and plenty off areas for outdoor dining

We had the most wonderful weekend, everything was absolutely perfect. The cottage is so unique and despite being quite a large property it still has such a cosy feel to it. I don’t think any of us have had such a good nights sleep in years 🤣 we have actually had to contact the host to find out where the mattresses and pillows were from… It was like sleeping on a cloud! Lucy is a fantastic host and was available at the end of the phone at all times, but also left us uninterrupted to enjoy ourselves. We will definitely come back in the summer months to enjoy the outside area more!

Just be careful if you are tall like me! I am 6ft so had to duck to make sure I didn’t bang my head on the door frames… obviously this is to be expected in a property like this but just bare this in mind if you are very tall!

Excellent location, in the old, peaceful part of Minehead but still a reasonable walk into town. Very cosy, very well decorated and equipped. Clean, warm, comfortable beds, excellent hot tub, log fire, plenty of room, nice big well equipped kitchen.

Bathroom in the twin room is a touch small, otherwise nothing.
