SUN SET HOUSE

The hostess communicated with us via Whats App. She notified us that the main restaurant was closed, so we should bring food to cook. She meet us at our car, put our luggage in her electric car and we followed her on foot to the house. That evening she brought us homemade soup from her garden. When I realized the washer was not also a dryer, she offered to take my clothes to her house to do the drying. She brought breakfast at the agreed upon time. It consisted of eggs, meat & cheese, sliced fruit, yogurt drink, cereal, bread and a slice of homemade cake. Our hostess knew plenty of English, so communicating was not a problem. Our hostess was superb! I chose this house because I wanted something unique. This house has a huge boulder in the corner of the bedroom upstairs. You can also see part of the boulder while sitting downstairs.

Everything at the house was great. A map of all the streets would be helpful, but there is not one available ( not even at the information center).

De ligging is fantastisch

Eloiza is a delightful hostess. She met us at the parking at the entry to the village and took our luggage and food in her little electric car to our accommodations. If we needed anything she was there to assist in minutes. We rented both the Old House and Sunset House for the four of us. These are side by side and in the old Jewish quarter of Monsanto with huge naturally occurring boulders incorporated into the walls and floors of both. Monsanto is often described as the most typical Portuguese Village, but it is far from typical! It was the most unique experience of our trip. We loved our stay and time with Eloiza.

A unique experience in a wonderful setting. Great facilities, excellent breakfast. Eloiza was wonderful. She is so proud that she showed us her other properties. The 3 bedroom one was incredible. Fernando (her husband) designed them to an outstanding standard. One of our best experiences on our 8 week trip of Spain and Portugal. We would give it a 10+.

Absolutely amazing hosts, they went out of their way to help in every way. The TINY car used to collect our luggage was hilarious. Great town & hike up to the castle. Awesome breakfast. Fun sleeping with a rock..everything very historic

Montsanto is a very special place like our host Eloísa, she made everything perfect. Very welcoming and always there to answer our questions. This was the high light of our trip!

Everything was wonderful! Highly recommended.

Very homie and unique. Sunset House was built around the huge boulders found all around in the village. It was a great place to explore and sometimes get lost, at least for a bit. :) Eloiza was very personable. She would bring us our delicious breakfast right at 8:00, like she promised. She didn't speak English, but that was part of the fun.

We particularly didn't like it when it was time to leave.

Location was great, right in the heart of the village with a view of the sunset from our little porch. The tiny house was charming! Our hostess was very welcoming and did everything she could to make sure we enjoyed our stay. She brought us a lovely breakfast in the morning.

The bathroom and shower were tiny, but that is to be expected in a rock cottage such as this.
