À perfect place for a perfect stay

Well done to the host, they went above and beyond. Our stay was way too short, we wish we could stay longer, however the experience was amazing, most definitely recommended.

The location was perfect, right by the ocean.

The shower...needs a curtain, water gets all over the floor no matter how careful you are.

Perfect setting to unplug - no wi-fi, no TV - absolute bliss. The cottage is right on the rocks with beautiful sunset views over False Bay. The fire pit was perfect for the one clear night we had and the inside fireplace was very cozy when the weather turned on our second night. We didn't have any issues with the baboons in the area, but it is always best to be vigilant. Please respect all the local wild life and allow them the right of way!

The house is situated right up against the ocean with easy access to a wonderfully fun stretch of rocky shore with a multitude of intertidal pools to explore. The pools are full of mud fish, crabs and hermit crabs, rocky starfish and spiny and soft anemones to find, feed and examine. The house is beautifully appointed and has an intelligent flow between spaces. Both the fireplace and braai area function very well with good pull on the indoor fireplace and a sheltered corner of the neatly designed outdoor space for braaiing. There is a romantic fire pit that we wish we had stayed another night to enjoy. Wood is kindly supplied and was also well selected - dry and burned well. The rooms are spacious and linen is excellent quality providing a real sense of luxury. Interesting design features include, most spectacularly, the wide cornering windows of the main bedroom which bring the outside in; the open bathroom in said bedroom which opens the space and the kitchen counter which is a clever repurposing of a bar counter. The bookshelf is teeming with intelligent options, there is a small collection of good board games and baskets of snuggly blankets to cuddle up with on two very comfy couches. The space has been thoughtfully curated to serve a couple on a romantic getaway or a small family exceptionally well. While there is no WiFi or television this adds great value to a stay focused on human connection, and the cellular signal was more than sufficient to send the unavoidable work emails. The contactless check in was also a lovely touch. It really helped establish a feeling of seclusion and privacy; while the host did kindly make contact via message service to ensure that we had arrived safely and offered flexibility around departure time.
