Villa Mazzei

Perfect location with almost privat beach. Nice spacey villa, with little garden.

Need lot of investment.

The infrastructure is outdated, but everything works, there’s plenty of space, the sea view is fantastic and you have a beach in front of you.

Again, the infrastructure is outdated, but it didn’t bother us that much because the price was much lower than other villa’s.

The villa is an amazing piece of architecture by the sea, a bit vetuste, which would need some restauration as wonderful and a pitty to leave for self degradation, with a marvellous garden and a little beach in front, towards which the stairs have fallen/broken (something for both neighbors to repair I guess). It contains a nice huge dining/living room, with a big table, a sofa and a tv, plus the bonus: a piano - unfortunately not working/out of tune, or our grandson would have delighted us with some of his compositions. Then four bedrooms, one with a ensuite shower, a bathroom and a kitcken. The rooms are simply furnished, but one gets the strictly necessary: a bed, a wardrobe (only a few hangers) and night tables, bed lamps, plenty of pillows, linens, covers. It is clean, except for some items in the kitchen and the oven tray which need more attention, but overall fully equipped. The terrace facing the garden is nice for its shadow, one part for staying outside for a coffee or a glass of wine, the other part for hanging the linens, towels, etc. The garden is so nice, with sunbeds, a bench, a table, grill and outside shower (no water though). A washing mashine would have been benefic. Parking space is provided in the inner courtyard in front, and we had a lot.of colored cats as visitors which were nice and playful, and a pair of very small furry, big eyed gray animals which live in the pine tree, looked like small ratoons, which descended only in the morning for provisions I guess, but do not know exactly what kind of animals they are. All in all a very nice accomodation and the location.is set perfectly on one side of the bay between Plemirria and the Ortigia Island. The water still warm, the beach with nice fine sand, apart from the mosquitos all was excellent for a nice week and lots of trips around in Sicilia. Big thank you to our host Laura who gave us all details via whatsup so that we had no problems with arriving or checking out alone.

The villa is amazing but needs some restauration especially as concern the windows and nets against mosquitos and nerds a general desinsection in this respect. There are lots of mosquitos which we killed but others showed up from nowhere...we found very little or no spray or room apparata, which we bought later but did not have any result. Our little granddaughter was allergic and she had one eye closed by the bite and we all suffered of multiple bites. .

Limited hot water Only 2 bathrooms for 4 rooms - not specified in description Blocked drains which were overflowing and causing a foul smell in the bathroom Not very clean Facilities included daily cleaning but no one ever came to clean We sent our complaints to the owner during our stay but they tried to justify each complaint with an excuse. At the end they just offered us a refund for the remaining days if we decided to find another place...

it would be good to invest in house maintenance. One hot water boiler does not support a large group of people.

Cosy (though not the newest) holiday house among the trees overlooking a small private beach and Ortigia, Syracuse. Many spacious rooms, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, nice garden, wonderful terrace perfect for an evening chill-out. On site everything you need (really everything) for a successful holiday. Very friendly and helpful host - Laura.

A bit of a drive from Syracuse (about 15 minutes), so own car strongly advised.

The location is outstanding, peaceful and relaxing. The host Laura is extremely helpful and nice The house is beautiful and clean Did not want to go and end our vacation

The pillows in my bed were very uncomfortable No keys in the bathrooms, we, as a group of friends, had to make announcements every time we were using the toilet and hang a towel on the bathroom door to mark our presence in it. No plugs in the bathroom
