The Cottage, High Street Staithes

Perfect location, idyllic little cottage, absolutely beautiful. Fantastic bonus having a free parking spot, although I somehow managed to park in the wrong place !! but was quickly informed by Bev (the host), avoiding a pricey parking ticket, Thanks Bev x Spent long days walking with Albert our English Bulldog and evenings out for drinks and meals in the two wonderful pubs. Would not hesitate to to stay again

There wasn't anything that we didn't like, The cottage and the village were absolutely spot on for us.

Perfect location, just a minute from the beach. Beautiful house with a gorgeous log fire. Full of character and charm.

Location good. It was self catering

It was the coldest week of year by far. Minus degrees when we arrived. We know heating is expensive but we do think given the temperature the heating could have been on when we arrived. It was freezing.

Perfect location and a lot of care and attention has gone into the furnishings and accessories.

Cosy cottage comfy sofas

Penny pinching: No complimentary tea, coffee, milk - after arriving stressed from Storm Bibet this was not very welcoming 1/4 of a toilet roll!! 1/4 of a kitchen roll!! 1 log and a couple of firelighters and not even a match! We had to borrow a lighter from the barmaid in the pub next door! Connected to the router several times but every time tried to log onto the internet, got thrown out. Gave up in the end. Meant we couldn’t clarify any of these points with the owner Shower was poor: I could only get tepid/cold. My partner managed to get scalding hot. Pets are allowed BUT it’s not till you get there that they share that pets are not allowed upstairs. I’m with my dog 24/7/365. Are guests expected to sleep on the sofa? This should be made prominent in the ad. I wouldn’t have booked Car parking (merely a muddy grass verge outside the cafe at the top of the very steep hill). We only booked this cottage because it said it had a parking spot - we thought it would be in the village. I’m fact we were going to bring a relative who has breathing difficulties. Fortunately she couldn’t come otherwise things would have got really complicated). This should be made very prominent in the ad. I wouldn’t have booked. after such a streaaf journey, we really didn’t need ANY of these complications
