The Cottage, High Street Staithes

I loved the authenticity of this little cottage which was only a two minute walk from the harbour. It was warm, but we lit a log fire too which was lovely. It had all mod cons, and our bed was so comfortable! Dog friendly too!

The only thing I didn't like ( and this was nothing to do with the cottage) was if the tide was in, and our dog couldn't use the beach for his business, there didn't seem to be any pieces of public grass for him to use. Of course we cleaned up after him, but he had to use the pavement which felt wrong.

Loved the location on the High Street in the middle of the village. Just a few paces to the harbour and some shops. The locals were friendly and welcoming. Pleased to have a parking space up the hill for our cottage. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.

The cottage is very dark ,the lightbulbs are low wattage. Just one way in and out (front door)made me feel a little nervous about the fire safety, although plenty of fire extinguishers around the home. Accessing the attic bedroom may be a problem for the disabled as the steps are narrow and very steep.

The location was lovely 😍

Perhaps a welcome pack would be nice as the shop didn't open for a few days, and it was quite a trek to the co-op after a long drive and both pubs were packed out.

Such a beautiful little cottage, the rooms were nice and generous. The beds were so comfortable! It was very well equipped. We would stay here again definitely, if we can. We tried to book for next summer, but you are already fully booked 😪

Everything was great. Just need a pair of scissors in the kitchen (we couldn't find any).

Lovely setting with an excellent pub next door. A cosy cottage which was well-equipped and had comfortable beds. Excellent information provided about the local area and host responded very quickly. Parking bay provided was useful.

No fault of the cottage,we should have done our research, my son who is a big lad of 6 foot 3 struggled with the access to the attic room and the low ceilings in the accommodation.

amazing location in a beautiful village!!

The cottage is very cute, in a perfect location in central Staithes, walkable to all areas of the town. There is a small pub next door and independent shops within a 30 second walk. The cottage has an allocated parking space at the top of the town. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen. It is dog friendly.

Some areas inside the cottage would benefit from re-decorating as it looks a bit tired. e.g. loft room ceiling.
