We loved the location & the amazing views from every angle. The barn was spotless & had everything we needed for our stay. Only wish we could have stayed longer, great for visiting the Lakes.

"Fantastic house in a quiet location & well located for sightseeing and walks."

9.0

The location is spectacular and the house is better than the photos even show. A lovely large kitchen area, very well equipped. So quiet and to sit and look at the view through the huge window was perfect, we even saw a hare hopping along the lane.

The single beds weren't the comfiest, and I did have to do some very creative window coverings as there are no curtains in the twin room.

"Fijn en compleet huisje met fantastisch uitzicht"

9.0

Fantastisch uitzicht, heel schoon. Hele fijne douche. Gezellig en heel compleet. Vriendelijke en behulpzame hosts. Goede locatie om deDales te verkennen maar ook als uitvalsbasis voor het Lake District.

Ene slaapkamer heeft geen raam dat open kan.

"Enjoyed the stay but noticed a few snags"

9.0

Converted barn. Great view, large private parking space, nice outdoor table and chairs. Private and quiet. Clean. Great bathroom. We enjoyed our stay here and enjoyed walking in the hills nearby.

Downstairs bedroom has two tiny windows with no curtains, making sleep difficult in mid summer - they really need curtains. Pots and pans were old and need replacing. Converted barn is more functional than homely: nicely converted and clean but eg no pictures on the walls and could probably do with more rugs on flagstone floor downstairs. The long lane to the property, though little used, is not really walkable - very narrow with high hedges, and we encountered a couple of vehicles driving a little too fast down it. When we arrived we struggled to open the door because a mat was jamming it.

"Quiet, remote cottage with wonderful views"

9.0

The location is remote and beautiful with amazing views over the Howgills. Close to Sedbergh with lovely shops and pubs. Great walks pretty much on the doorstep. The cottage had great kitchen facilities and a comfortable lounge with log burner that was all set up for our arrival. The window from the lounge was the main event-fabulous! The main bedroom was spacious and had lovely views over the fields with lambs for neighbours.

The remote setting, but not really that far from anything! The views, the silence, the sheep.

"Peaceful stay in a lovingly converted barn in beautiful surroundings."

9.0

Spotlessly clean. Secluded but only 5 minutes back to town for supplies. Fabulous views. Directions were spot on, easy and fast check in, thoughtful treats left and plenty of hot water. Space to park a car and camper van outside. Master bedroom very large with a window looking out over the countryside to wake up to. We enjoyed the dark skies and stars sat outside at night. Would definitely stay again.

We found the mattress too hard….this is personal choice but a topper would have made a big difference for us.
