O'Brien's Oasis

This was our favourite place on our round trip in California. It was so quiet and comfortable. If you just make sure you have food supplies before you get there it is perfect. So well equipped, including a gas bbq and the air con worked really well. It is in an excellent location for both national parks. Kings Cannon is such a great experience if you don’t like crowds. We were sad to leave.

There were mosquitoes in the bedroom so do use the supplied spray

Probably too remote and we were kept up with possums gnawing the corner of the house.

Cute bohemian cabin. Had everything we needed. Cozy and charming and a relaxing lovely outdoor area. Loved the homey touches inside and the barn to park in. Had a nice queen bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed we did not use. There is a twin daybed in the screened in patio to use in the summer. The owner was very helpful over the phone and via text and e-mails. About 20 minutes from the entrance to Kings Canyon.

It is on a dirt road. This could be a problem in wet weather. It is in a housing area. Only saw one restaurant that serves basic food for lunch or dinner and drinks. Booking.com says is a two bedroom. It is a ONE bedroom. TV remote was a challenge.

Excellent in terms of location to explore Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park which is main reason we chose it. Property has everything you need to have comfortable stay. Shame we could not use lovely outdoor terrace and space as weather didnt hold up for us - but otherwise we had great stay. Both parks are easily accessible from the property as it kind of sits between two main roads leading each of them. Stock up of some food before driving here - we didnt! which was little silly so had to drive to nearest large town Woodlake. the host were great in terms of communication. check in and key collection was very easy. Its also nice to be able to stay in real American home out in the sticks for completeness of our road trip experience (as opposed to hotel stay!) Kings Canyon and Sequoia Parks are absolute must to visit although in two days I feel we only scratched the surface of whats on offer here. And be sure to be comfortable with driving very winding roads! In different conditions. Accompanied by most spectacular views!

Very nice cabin just outside of Sequoia & King's Canyon National Parks. Great location if you're there for those. It was well-appointed with a full kitchen. Instructions were good and it was overall pretty easy to get into the place.
