O'Brien's Oasis

The location was great - very quiet and close to Kings Canyon National Park. The cabin was clean and cozy and had well stocked kitchen and bathroom. The patio was nice as well.

The place is a hidden gem. The owners care for their guests with comfort and taste. A nice room, living room, bathroom, terrace, and porch to share with a partner, friends, or family ! An outdoor gas grill and fireplace to enjoy. Nice kitchen that is fully equipped too. We recommend it 100% !!!

Great location and easy to find. Absolutely beautiful area and the yard space was very nice. Had lots of string lights outside. Enjoyed the car port with the ping pong table Home was cozy and had plenty of room. (Family of 3). Kitchen had everything we needed plenty of cookware and utensils. Nice air fryer/toaster oven. It has a press coffee make-not drip which worked fine for us. The Wifi worked surprisingly well considering how remote it is. The fold out couch was very comfortable, very nice mattress and plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Bathroom was nice and clean.

The property was listed as having a Living room and two bedrooms one with a queen bed and the other sofa bed. The second bedroom was actually a screened in porch with a daybed. So to clarify the layout, there is a Living room which is spacious that is combined with the dining area and kitchen off to the side. A nice screened porch to one side and a large sized bedroom with attached bath on the other side. So guests have to walk through the main bedroom to get to the bathroom. The home uses a swamp cooler for cooling which helps but is still a little warm when 90+ degrees out. Plus it doesn't cool the porch area which is why the 2nd "bedroom" couldn't be used as one. The kitchen was nice and clean but if we had anything on the counter even wrapped in plastic wrap it would get filled with ants.

Personally, I liked that it was a bit eccentric. Brightly colored against the surrounding nature. The metal yard art throughout. It would be a great place to stay for a few days just to enjoy everything.

It was a little difficult to find despite the instructions. After you turn onto the dirt road and after you see the Obriens wooden sign, the next sign you see is "no trespassing." A second sign would be great to know you're going the right direction.

Quirky little cottage in a remote location. Good facilities for self-catering. the table tennis table in the garage was a nice touch.
