Stable Cottage "The Unicorn Stable"

Great conversion with lovely details in a fab location. Provision of a fresh loaf of bread and pot of honey were a nice touch, as were the eggs. Book collection could have had me staying for weeks.

Not a main issue but instructions for using the heaters would help. Main heater in living room didn't come on Saturday evening, but not sure if that was set to a certain temperature or just on a timer, so moved mobile heater from bedroom but that didn't seem to want to stay on.

It was different and magical like Cornwall itself. Lots of hidden and unexpected pieces of art. The beds were very comfortable and how lovely to have a window at the bed head to look at at the beautiful view.

Everything was perfect. Great location - Plymouth is only 40 minutes by car as well as several interesting historical buildings in 20 minutes. Cottage is hidden in a beautiful valley, and there are no words to describe its extraordinary interior - you feel like in a magical fairy tale.

we booked this property through booking.com and searched for pet friendly cottages , on booking we thought we were paying for the use of the whole property and that pets and my daughter and son were included in the price, on arriving at the property the owner made us and the dogs jump over the gate saying that he didn’t no we were bringing pets and additional guests , I stated that I thought it was all in the booking but he said it wasn’t, having looked on the owners own website states price includes up too 4 persons, I was happy to pay additional for the dogs but did dispute the amount he was asking for was another £60 just for my daughter, we decided that we would only stay 2 nights in the end as it spoilt our break and having already paid almost £400 for the property really didn’t want to pay anymore…. you would also think that the owner would speak to booking.com rather than the guest….. good points is location but due to the amount of building work going on and general clutter around the property it did spoil the surroundings nice touch to have fresh bread and eggs left

apart from the above there where things we didn’t like, Owner seemed to be constantly looking what we were doing, no privacy as workers constantly walking past the window drilling in the next door cottage at 7am needed a good clean as lots of cobwebs beds uncomfortable mould around shower also owner could do with cutting hedges back down their lane as scratches all done the side of the car says suitable for dogs but hasn’t a secure garden and chickens roaming all the time so didn’t let our dogs off the lead

Loved the location and the cottage

Super comfortable, quiet and picturesque. Out of the way, right on the water and local hikes available. Garden was enclosed so great for the dog. The fresh eggs and bread was a delicious tough. The property was even better than expected and loved the artistic magical flair!

Only due to the heatwave, upstairs was so hot it made it difficult to sleep even with a fan(which we forgot but please let future families enjoy) We found keeping the curtains and windows closed it helped to keep it cool - a blind on the velux would be a great help.
