Joel's Off Grid Cottage in the Klein Karoo

Beautiful area with a great view from the cottage. The rooms were very comfortable, and it was great to know that we were off grid and using the best of nature to enjoy our stay. Joel was very friendly and helped make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

We loved our stay! Just a small note: for multi-night stays, it would be helpful to know that basic amenities like salt, pepper, coffee, tea, and soap aren't provided, so guests can plan accordingly

Joel has created the most amazing space for people to get away from it all and reset. We loved the freshwater natural pool, the outdoor bath, shower and toilet. Views are breathtaking, and the peace and quiet was so good for the mind and soul. Would love to take off 7 days and simply relax and reset at Joel's cottage. Joel is an extremely friendly and hospitable host who has thought of absolutely everything to ensure his guests have the most memorable stay. Thank you Joel!

Where do I even begin.......I left my heart at Joel's and certainly took a part of Joel's with me. I wish I could have stayed longer. I'm definitely going back every time I'm in SA. Ooh, the water straight from the natural spring 👌

Awesome views in the mountain

We had a fantastic stay at Joel's Cottage. The accommodation was cozy and well equipped for a great stay for us and our two dogs. Extra credit to Joel for the comfortable bedding, unlimited wood for the braai and donkey, refreshing water straight from the mountain stream and the amazing outdoor bathroom! The donkey that is built into the lounge/kitchen area does an amazing job of heating up the cottage on cold nights, and during the day there is a private natural swimming pool and shaded veranda for relaxing outside. Joel was a lovely, welcoming host throughout and offered plenty of clear instructions. The cottage is located next to Joel's house on a stunning plot above a kloof... The views are incredible! Joel was happy for us to let our dogs run free around his property, and even tolerated them occasionally popping into his house. The farm also has some beautiful trails to explore and breathtaking views. We will definitely come back again!

The cottage and facilities were stunning, and thanks to Joel who made sure everything was in place, told us about the area and I can recommend this accommodation for everyone. the views are the best and there's nothing that Joel did not think of. also Pet friendly

Everything was wonderful! We started relaxing from the first second. Joel is an awesome host and made us feel right at home. Sitting at the outside area overlooking the mountains - superb! The hike to the waterfall was quite an adventure which we enjoyed thoroughly! If you are looking for a getaway in this area - this is it! You've found the perfect place.
