Everything as expected.

Outdoor seating hold have been better

It is a beautiful and authentic old house, wonderfully cool inside (natural climate control!). It was equipped with everything we needed, even games like UNO, etc! Lots of interesting and old precious things to look at and appreciate. The backyard is nice and open with a lovely view, yet private enough. Very homely.

There was a bad smell coming from the drain in the bathroom

I really enjoyed my stay at Tabakhuis! A beautiful house in a quaint Little Karoo dorp. Had ample heating for the cold weather and beautiful decor. Loved it and will definitely be back!

I can't really comment here as when we arrived the geyser had leaked to such an extent that the entire house was flooded. All I can say is that the owners found alternative accommodation for us and really want the extra mile in alleviating our situation. We will definitely return to Sutherland some time in the future and stay at Die Tabakhuis.

The unfortunate situation with the flooded house which was nobody's fault

Gorgeously and thoughtfully appointed with attention to little details. Very spacious and yet cozy at the same time with lots of blankets, a fireplace and electric blankets for when it's super cold. There's lights for when it's load shedding. There's a big kitchen which is well appointed and a lovely big dining table. There are two separate bedrooms. It's on a quiet street but easy walking distance to the main road, shops and restaurants. Definitely recommend this when visiting Sutherland.

Well equipped cozy home.

We liked the interior look of the house. The lovely DOVER and indoor braai. Comfy bed and electric blankets.

Cold draft through front door-not sealed properly. No starter pack firewood for stove upon arrival. Dirty braai grids. Shower drains water very slowly. Entrance to house: security door and inner door uncomfortable to open and close due to the fitting of both doors in comparison to each other. Outer carpet at entrance door insufficient to protect interior from mud etc.
