Ferry Lane Cottage

The location was great and there was more than enough space for my needs. Everything was clean and well appointed. I didn't use the outside deck or outdoor kitchen (or indoor kitchen for that matter), but they seemed cute and well appointed.

The toilet seat was broken and pinched my butt. I sent a number of questions that received no response, however the host did let me know that check in would be delayed and that the seat was broken.

Lovely cottage in an ideal location

Excellent location and exceptionally clean. Very helpful host who dropped off something we left behind to our relative’s workplace. Blackout blind provided for one of the rooms (we bring a travel one but utilised this happily) Wonderful outside bbq and eating area

Cooling the main bedroom with the provided fans was tricky as it’s window does not open. Bedroom number two door very close to top of staircase (in case you bring small children, you may need to bring a stair gate)

Great location. Cottage nicely decorated. Comfortable beds.

Given the wrong key box code and had to stand outside the cottage for 25 mins trying to contact the owners. They didn't answer the phone or respond to text or email. Eventually had to sign in to booking.com to contact them. No welcome or supplies (other than a few tea bags, coffee and sugar) in the cottage - not even a pint of milk in the fridge. The smaller of the two ovens very dirty. Sent a message to the owners to inform them and received no response.

It was a very convenient location and somewhat decent apartment.

First, the owners were two hours late providing the code to the key box so we could access the apartment. They seemed very unconcerned until we contacted booking.com support who in turn contacted them. There could have been better attention paid to details. For example, the hand soap dispenser was empty as was the laundry detergent. The hand soap should be a given and if you’re providing a washing machine then it would be courteous to provide travelers with some clothes detergent. We ended up buying some and left it so for the next occupants this won’t be an issue. However, it’s not due to the care of the owners. The apartment also has a pervading musty smell. The outdoor space seemed nice but needs some attention to make it actually usable. The bathroom is quite cramped and the sink is over top the stairs ceiling which sticks out and you can’t avoid kicking it. The top of the stairs and the step up into each bedroom is also a concern when going from one bedroom to the other. We could see someone falling if not paying attention. The facilities also list a clothes drying rack but it was no where to be found.

This is a beautiful cottage situated in the best part of the town. It was very easy to find and close to a variety of shops, restaurants and bars.

There was nothing not to like.
