Stonewood Mountain Cabin

The cabin had beautiful views across the valley, it was the highlight of our stay to sit on the deck with a glass of wine and watch the sunset, truly spectacular. The cabin was modern, spacious and comfortable, it had all the amenities and more. It was peaceful and the location is not too far from Wolseley if you need to stock up on supplies. Check-in was also effortless with easy instructions. Highly recommended, next time I'm bringing my furry children with us🙂

Location and scenery was nice

The wind coming from the ceiling in the downstairs bedroom is really bad and made worse by what seems to be a loose sheet on the roof. This made it near impossible to get a good nights sleep. There are many crevices big enough to allow the wind & other creatures to pass through. We woke up to find a scorpion on the curtain & had to get rid of it. At that moment we were looking for an emergency phone number but found nothing. The number provided on booking.com went straight to a message service. The furniture in the lounge is very dirty & theres quite a lot of dust that appears to have been sitting there for a while. Also found an unsmoked cigarette in the bathroom. We decided to check out & leave earlier & the boom gate was locked. We went to ask someone at the Calabash pub for help to open the gate & she was very rude & very dismissive. We never received any instructions about what to do when we arrived regarding the boom gate & never expected it to be closed let alone locked. In the event of an emergency for your guests this could be a big problem.
