Bakers Cottage

Lovely cottage, very spacious and well kept. Neighbours are lovely as well!

Amazing property! Excellent communication with the wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make our stay baby friendly. Perfect little get away, near to Keswick and Cockermouth. The rooms were cosy and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Bakers cottage is a beautiful little property, very close to many popular sites. The property has everything you need to make yourself at home. Owners are very approachable and there to help if you need anything, which is a god send after travelling all the way from Devon. Would go again without a doubt

Wrt the Internet comments on other reviews we initially had the same issue with getting onto the extension wifi. You can get on the Internet upstairs either way. After the first night I did manage to log in using the given password and relocating the extender upstairs where the signal was stronger then had no further issues throughout the property.

Very warm and comfortable accommodation. Lovely large squishy sofa for relaxing at the end of a long walk. Everything was clean and well cared for.

The WiFi strength and connectivity was an issue. The owner did try every day to support us and even swapped the extender but we couldn't connect to it and the main router was in their property next door.

Upto date, modern property but still showing parts of it old heritage. Lovely open plan kitchen-living room. Excellent location to surrounding areas and plenty of location amenities.

The only issue would be the parking within close distance to the property. There may be a space available if asked for in advance, but it is tight. This is no fault of anyone's, but to be expected of a lovely small cottage when in the past vehicles were less commonplace or larger than they once were. This alone would not put me off to returning to the gem that is Bakers Cottage.

A lovely comfortable place, very clean and tidy. The bed was good, plenty of hot water, kitchen fairly well equipped, though some tongs and a sharp knife would be good. We liked the location and didn’t mind the short drive to Cockermouth for supplies. We had no complaints other than the internet, as detailed below.

As others have commented before, the internet. The signal is weak and if you move away from the kitchen into the lounge it drops out. The problem, as highlighted to the hosts, is that the router is in the cottage next door, so the signal doesn’t reach. The booster is too far from the router to be of use. There are two other networks that come up first (presumably from the booster) but no passwords are available. If you need to work from here, or rely on good internet, this isn’t the place for you.

Fantastic property. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Had absolutely everything we needed and in such a wonderful location for exploring the lakes. Felt like a home from home. Great to find all the leaflets for things to do and they gave us lots of inspiration.
