Property Notes

We will contact you before your arrival to provide door key code. Early check-in or late check-out are subject to confirmation by the property. Free WiFi is available. Central heating and hot water is provided by timer. Bed linen and towels are provided per guest per stay. The open fire is for turf burning only, burning wood or coal is not permitted, a starter fire pack is provide during winter months, extra turf can be purchased at the local shop. Guests are requested to recycle using the bins provided. We welcome guests to bring their dogs, maximum of 2 allowed and by prior request before arrival, Additional fee of €20 per dog per stay applies. Dogs must have their own bedding and must be kept downstairs, they are not allowed in bedrooms, upstairs or on furniture, guest must clean all traces of dogs before departure. A deposit of EUR 50 is chargeable subject to inspection and cleanliness of the property.Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties. Managed by a private host A deposit may be required at the property.

"Lovely place when warm especially in winter"

Very close to the village,ample parking and good facilities

Very cold arriving in the evening house was extremely cold which wasn’t very welcoming.It took a full day for the house to heat up.

Loved the layout of the house, the turf fire, excellent facilities and situation of the house.

Everything was excellent, heating wee bit tricky but one phone call to the owner had that sorted immediately

"Picturesque cottage in great location"

We had stayed in this lovely cottage some years ago with our whole family during the summer, so were pleased to come back in winter. The house is cosy and clean with plenty of space upstairs and down. We love the location, an easy walk to the local pub and a short drive to other nearby towns - we'd recommend Carrickfin Beach, Crolly's Distillery and Leo's pub for traditional music. We had a problem when entering the property and the owner answered quickly when we called and arranged for us to have a free drink at the pub while the matter was resolved - no complaints about that!

"Exceptional"

It was only two of us, but this easily caters a family or a group of friends as it's spacious. The view from the Cottage upstairs is amazing looking at the lake. There is a Circle K opposite that has a shop that can provide basic fridge and freezer needs with a cafe next to it. Would recommend Leo's Tavern for dinner. The other local restaurant which is only a few minutes is only open some evenings a week so check in advance. Would come back again with a group. The house is easily signposted from the main road with an L road sign. Access was easy into the house with space for a few cars. To get the keypad working just press your palm onto the black reader and that will present the numbers to then input for door entry. Easy peasy. To turn on the heating and hot water during the scheduled times it's also very easy to use.

It costs €2 per hour to have hot water and heating using a meter. The meter only takes coins. It needs to take wireless payment or be done away with. Apart from that, no issues and a pleasant stay for climbing Mt Errigal. Didn't get round to telling the host, but a few lamp lightbulbs need replacing.
