Donegal Thatched Cottage

The Cottage is very comfy ans quiet and well -equipped.

I thought the cottage was by the river in the middle of a field but there are other houses closeby that don't appear on the pictures. The shower was so hot at the beginning that you get burnt. You have no control over the heaters. It was hard to light the turf in the fireplace.

Historic space with great scenery and access to local Donegal activities.

The lower level of the house was chilly and as we traveled with an elderly family members, it wasn’t comfortable for them, even after paying extra money into a cash utility box onsite. Seeing the house linens/towels on the backyard line for multiple days wasn’t reassuring as to cleanliness standards, either.

Easy to find, ease of access and on the wild Atlantic way which I was riding with my brother in law.

it was cold, heating only comes on once in the morning and once in the evening. think it’s remotely controlled from elsewhere.

The interior of the cottage was incredible like stepping back in time in the bedrooms and living room but tastefully updated with a modern kitchen. Outside it looked great too with plenty of space for our dog to stretch her legs in the garden. Also the local pub is about 2 minutes walk and they served Guinness so creamy you could eat it with a spoon.

Absolutely everything. The location, the house, everything about the house was just perfect! Stephen and Dervilla were a delight.
