Private little oasis! Beautiful views, quiet, clean and comfortable. Also excellent walking distance to the shops and other amenities. We really enjoyed our stay.

There is nothing I can fault with the property at all.

"Black House a cosy winter hideaway"

Location is suburb. 5min walk to town, private yard with house tucked in amongst hedges. Gorgeous views of lake and snow covered mountains. View of stars from sky lights as you lie in bed. Fire and heatpump keep the entire home warm and cosy. Beds comfy. Kitchen well equipped.

Minor things: Metal chairs in kitchen quite cold to sit on. Mirror upstairs would have been helpful.

"Comfortable house close to the main part of Tekapo with friendly and supportive hosts"

Fantastic location. Hosts Simon and Kathy were there when we needed some help. How many hosts would shovel a driveway after a 20cm snowfall to help their guests drive away safely? It’s a beautiful house with a great fire, interesting decor and comfortable beds.

"Quiet and peaceful house"

The location and it was quiet

The heating was not good. In the morning we had 4 c outside 23.4.25. The electricity heater was not adapted to the size of the rear sleeping room. Yes there is a fireplace in the living room but we didn’t want to use it. The tiles in the shower are dangerously slippery….
