YAMAYA BASE 1

Un bungalow en pleine nature, donnant sur le fleuve bien placé pour explorer la vallée de l’Iya. Deux chambres avec lits doubles séparés, coin cuisine et salon salle à manger. Les douches sont séparées du logement. Le bungalow base 2 est au même endroit, à 50 m.

La voie de chemin de fer sur l’autre versant est un peu bruyant mais aucun train ne circule la nuit.

Yamaya Base 1 is set in an absolutely gorgeous location, backing directly onto Yoshina River, surrounded by woodlands. The accommodation is generously sized and well-equipped - We especially liked the two separate toilets inside the accommodation.

A nearby train line may be an issue if you are a light sleeper, however it didn't bother us. If you plan on being outside after dark, definitely invest in mosquito coils.

This was the best accommodation of our trip. Right along the river. Surrounded by birds. We had the whole house for just the two of us which made it extra luxurious (I'm sure it can accommodate six to eight people). The view from the living room is just amazing. And the owner was very easy to coordinate with on the app. If you want to visit the Iya Valley and keep the experience going in the evening, stay here! Oh, and the ability to do a BBQ was just icing on the cake. I wish we had the time to stay a few more days and just relax here.

Everything was great but just to be exhaustive, the property is not "lost" in the woods. There is a train and a small road passing on the other side of the river. It's quiet at night but of course you'll hear noise during the day. It didn't bother us at all, but thought to highlight it for others just in case. On the plus side, it makes it super easy to drive to compare to the micro roads that take you high up the mountains.

The view and accessibility to the river was amazing!

The beds were very uncomfortable, comforters on the floor. It is help to use the dining floor mats as extra cushioning.

Lovely location overlooking the river. Peaceful and charming but with nice touches like a Bluetooth speaker in the roof! Comfortable and a great getaway.

I wouldn’t say we didn’t like it but because It was winter and freezing cold, having the shower in an outbuilding made for an experience! It was fine though really coz there was plenty of hot water.

Beautiful setting by the river, nice wooden and large cabin, very clean, and the host was kind and flexible, allowing us to arrive an hour later than the usual check-in time.

Probably my bad but I hadn’t realized that the shower was in a separate cabin. Although only 15 seconds walk, it was an inconvenience in cold weather. The shower is, however, clean and has an extra space to change and so it’s not bad.

Fabulous location next to the river, great wild swimming in the morning. Great value for a party of 4, quiet location.
