Lake Haven Cottage with Game Room, Swim Dock and Boat

Unfortunately several issues made our stay disappointing. The biggest issue was that the swim dock did not have a ladder, even though the listing photos clearly showed one. This was one of the main reasons I chose this Airbnb, as we specifically wanted the kids to be able to swim from the dock, so it was frustrating to arrive and find it missing. Also, there were nails sticking up through the boards on the “swim deck”, making it very risky for kids to even walk out on it. Check-in was also problematic. Although check-in was listed for 4:00 p.m., the cleaning crew was still there after 5:00 p.m., forcing us to wait in the car until they were done. To make matters worse, there were no pillows when we finally got inside, requiring multiple phone calls with the cleaning staff while we were trying to enjoy our vacation. The pillows were not delivered until after 7:00 p.m. Additionally, one of the arcade game machines in the advertised game room was not working, the air conditioner leaked water onto the floor inside the cottage, one of the beds had a significant dip in the middle that made it very uncomfortable for two people to sleep on, and some of the outlets did not work. Overall, the cottage itself was clean and in a decent location, but the inaccurate listing details, delayed check-in, and multiple maintenance issues made the experience much less enjoyable than we had anticipated. Based on our experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

At first we were worried that it would be too small when we first pulled in. But the space felt bigger than it looked. We were not on top of eachother eirher. It was very comfortable We loved the lake access. We didnt use the game room but it was nice to have available. It was very quiet also. We thoroughly enjoyed the lodging. They have pots and pans to do lite cooking silverware dishes all of those type of things.

The only thing I woukd say that I didnt like would be that there were towels but if we were staying for more than 2 nights we wouldn't have had enough. But we also didnt contact the Host to ask for more so its just a if I had to say something bad this is it.

Comfortable, beautiful, cozy, well stocked

Location was good. The space was a good size. Comfortable for a short weekend.

Towels still had price tags on them. If the main house is rented, it feels a little intrusive to access the dock, fire pit and game room. Also, there is no access to a laundry facility which would have been nice because we got soaked in the rain.

A beautiful location on Lake Hamilton. The colors and decor were really nice.

Right on the lake. Fire pit and game room. Clean, cozy, comfortable. Nice touches. Opportunity to rent kayak. Owner was helpful and communicated well.

Nothing…it was perfect!

Close to the water, pool table and game room. Kitchen and fridge. Fishing dock. Patio table and chairs near the water. Plenty of towels. Easy drive to things to see and downtown.

Very steep to the water and steps uneven. Backing in to a tight parking spot but doable. Need a can opener. 😊

It was cute from the eye until you look closely.

Hello and good morning, we appreciate your house and stay but unfortunately, we are not able to give a 5-star rating. We arrived at the house, and everything looks great! Upon showering that night we noticed that the towels were either stained or not washed because there were large brown dirt marks on them. We had four people for unfortunately 2 people had to share 2 towels and wash clothes which was not ideally. Next thing we noticed is there were hairs in the sheets and pillowcases and they also smelt like someone else has just slept on them. Also about the bed is my husband just sat on the bed and the siding broke off like it was missing screws to hold it up, so he got up to fix that and put it back together. He didn't sit back down until after showering. once him and I got into the bed together the bed broke once again and it ended up hurting his back and neck and my back in the process of it breaking, like it sent a sharp jab up and down our backs and necks. We got up to see what was wrong and we found the middle of the bed was laying on the ground 2 cinder blocks holding I'm unsure what up, and the wooden planks were not on at all. We ended up having to fix that and we slept awful. The metal rail that goes in the middle pushed the bed up at an angle and was very uncomfortable but only way for us to have a bed. We almost ended up leaving and finding another hotel to stay because of how terrible the beds were and lack of clean items as mentioned above. We did not have the option to move to the other bed as stated before we had 4 in our party to sleep. In our opinions it was not worth the amount paid for the stay. I thought I would send this in a private message to see if we could come up with a resolution instead of making a bad review on the property and preventing other people from staying or y'all losing out on money.
