Wonderful large cottage in the village of Ireshopeburn. Everything we needed was there. We did not miss the tv. The location is great for adventure in the Pennine Mountains. Great host.

From the moment we walked through the doors we were delighted with all of the special things they did to make our stay wonderful. We were greeted with deluxe chocolate cookies, and milk. The place was exceptionally clean. The fires had wood and kindling already to start the fire Without any problems. The place was extremely cozy and magical. The host communicated very well with us and went out of their way to try to help us find things to do for our stay.

"Exceptional, everything was catered for."

My daughter was staying at the adventure centre nearby, so I booked this property as it was close and it was within budget. I had to bring my laptop/PC and work during the day. I had messaged and was told that the internet was fast and it was absolutely fine (which was a great relief). When I arrived and (eventually) found the lockbox; I couldn't have been more impressed at the property. It was absolutely stunning and much larger than I had expected. There was a nice card, shortbread biscuits, tea and milk waiting for me. Everything had been catered for; welcome pack, amenities, dish washer, fridge freezer (I left my pizza!). The place was super cozy (wood burners) and had hive for central heating. I honestly couldn't ask for anything more and will be staying again with my family next time.

"A lovely quiet cottage and a perfect place from which to explore Weardale."

Beautifully furnished and provided with every comfort considered, Mayfield Cottage was a joy in which to spend some time with family. We particularly appreciated the comfortable beds, kitchen area and shower.

A shame they couldn’t do anything about the rain!
