Mey Cliff Cottage

Fabulous location right on the edge of the cliffs. Saw the Northern Lights on our first night. Enclosed garden for my dog to run around without having to worry about her. Your neighbour was very nice and pointed out a pod of dolphins that were swimming past the property.

Nothing really. We had an exceptional week of weather so some outdoor seating/dining would have been good but know that this is probably only needed for 1 week a year! A towel rail and a shelf in the en-suite would have been useful but again not strictly necessary.

My second stay and I absolutely love this property, the location is beautiful and view so beautiful that it is almost hypnotic.

The views were great, the home very cosy, the bed just hard enough.

This property is 100% the best house I have ever rented . I have to work all over the UK and live in a small village in the English Lake District so the “bar” is high so I do not say that lightly. I am tempted not to say nice things as I want to stay again and don’t want to encourage competition! Somehow sunrise and sunset are all beautifully displayed over the water and rocks , washing up Is like a drama with unbelievable views over the sink. Stunningly clean, warm and, perfect . I would spend the rest of my life in that house if allowed. Photos are all from the house.

We had been told that some electrical appliances needed replacing, this was true but everything worked as it should An idiots guide to the appliances would be useful

The property is in a great location, with fantastic views and is very spacious. The garden is huge, there’s loads of space to enjoy the amazing scenery and wildlife. The property has great WIFI.

The property is in need of a few upgrades. The fridge door doesn’t close properly and as such it not cooling as it should be - we did bring this to the owners attention on our arrival, but I can see that it has been mentioned by another customer on a previous review. The freezer is broken and has been replaced with a table top freezer but it is extremely small. The dishwasher is very old and needs replaced -the top basket is held on with cable ties and when we pulled the top basket out to put cups In, the entire basket came away, including the runners(that’s when we realised it was being held on with cable ties). The external doors in the livingroom are needing some attention - while we were staying at the property there were really high winds, which is to be expected considering the location, but the draught coming through the doors was really bad. Overall this is a decent property but it is tired and needs a wee bit of TLC.

The location is fabulous being right in the waterfront with views of Orkney and Dunnet head.

If I may say that the frying pans need ti be renewed,that is the only thing.

Brilliant location; just relax in the warm sitting room looking out over Orkney and watch the birds, boats and lighthouses. Really liked that the garden was enclosed so my dog could stretch her legs. Absolutely loads of storage space.

Perfect location, beautiful views, spacious and well equipped cottage. We had excellent holidays and definitely we will be coming back.

Decor was a bit dated ( my personal taste). Very old dishwasher, fridge door did not work properly. Two taps in bathrooms. Beds without headboards. But these small problems can be easy fixed and they did not have any impact on our holidays.
