Mey Cliff Cottage

I loved everything about this house. Beautiful big living room. Lovely open kitchen and dining area with chairs to sit and look out at the beautiful scenery. Awkward to find.i suggest you go ask in the post office.

There was nothing to dislike.

Location and space. Amazing spot, beautiful views. Warm and comfortable. Very hot water, good shower. Clean.

An extra set of bowls etc. would be good as we waited until the dishwasher was full before putting it on - but nothing too major. A wooden spoon would have been useful.

The location is wonderful. Stunning seaviews. We even saw seals in the waves from the kitchen window. Plenty of parking. Big garden, lots of space for the dog to run. Close to beautiful landmarks, such as Dunnet bay. The house is well equipped, with lots of helpful extras provided in the cupboards. Wifi was reliable. Communication before and during our stay was excellent.

Second time we stayed at this cottage which indicates our views. Excellent location looking over the Pentland Firth. Facilities at the property were very good and cater for all needs. Plenty of parking on site and facilities at Wick/Thurso/Castleton ae all within a short drive away. We'd definitely like to return for another visit. Nothing we can fault.

Nothing not to like

The view was perfect and exactly what we had hoped for. It was lovely and peaceful and we loved watching the changing light across the Pentland Firth and the changing of the tides. Spotted seals, dolphins, numerous different sea birds (and lots of ships!). Comfortable, clean and warm.

We feel a property of this style and cost would benefit from drawer storage in bedrooms and storage options in bathroom / toilet rather than just the windowsills. Poor quality lighting throughout esp, bare flourescent light in kitchen and limited side/ table lamps. Cheap IKEA bedside furniture was disappointing. No barbeque equipment or outside seating options available (which was listed on booking confirmation). TV entertainment options limited to freeview only - DVD player did not work with very limited DVD selection even if it did work. A list of maintenance issues was left at property for housekeeping (all fairly minor maintenance to be fair).
