Center Street Villas

Close to local eats & attractions. Came to the desert to escape the LA fires for a few days of being able to turn my ringer off when i slept. . I booked a bigger place than I needed because I told a few friends if they needed to bug out, too, they could have a safe place to land instead of just driving away from the fires. The property allows up to 4 in the villa at no additional cost so I knew I could just let the property manager know or update the info in my reservation. I was exhausted from being on high alert & a little sick from smoke inhalation so I didn't get out & explore the neighborhood & the trails like I normally would. There were little shops, eateries, a Saloon, all within easy walking distance. .I didn't lay down in the other bedroom but the bed I slept in at the end of the hall was VERY comfortable. I have several painful complications with my lower lumbar so I'm used to not being able to get comfortable but this bed was unexpectedly great, with a very nice mattress topper. I couldn't believe how chilly it was in Joshua tree but the bedding at the villa was the perfect weight & warmth so I could really hibernate, the red villa had a whopping 3 tvs, all with a great variety of streaming options. One in each bedroom, and one in the living room over little fake fireplace (which is the only kind of fire I'm interested in from here on out honestly). Radiator heat. You'll need it in January. Classic vintage California ceiling radiator fan in the bathroom like in mine at home, so if you're chilly & just getting out of the shower, you don't have to be as cold I had an existential chuckle-cry about the Terra Flamma book on the coffee table.

I don't wanna say *didn't like* because I was just so relieved to get away from the fire danger for a little bit that I wasn't really looking for some kind of exciting vacation experience, so much as a door to shut. I guess if I was gonna be there awhile I'd want more cooking implements, but I enjoyed ordering take out around the neighborhood so it didn't matter much, but I appreciated that there was a bunch of parchment paper so I could drag out finishing my leftovers. You know, one thing I wished I'd brought was a humidifier.i forgot how dry the environment would be. I should've just gone & bought one. Or if I came back I'd bring the stuff I like to use from home. Oh, I thought about doing laundry, but there was a ton of laundry already being done so I bailed on it. My personal laundry is obviously secondary to running the villas. I'm sure there was a laundromat nearby if I was really that inspired.

Great place to stay when visiting Joshua Tree. Clean and comfortable villa with comfy beds. Cool lounge room and outdoor area.

The Place is dirty and dusty. It was not cleaned One bed does not have sheets on it. Got bug bites during stay. Dripping shower faucet.

Location was great, it was comfortable, and had everything we needed. Owner was very nice and accommodating!

Some things could use an upgrade in the bathroom and bedrooms. Mattresses were very uncomfortable.

The host was very responsive and answered my queries immediately even late into the night

Excellent location in Joshua Tree. Property is roomy.

Could use a deep cleaning.
