Garden House

It felt like I'm at home away from home. Everything was really great, the fact that the host left everyone a portable warm water bag on the bed was really cute as it can get very cold in the Karoo. Dit voel jy is in 'n plaashuis!!

I would suggest putting in a 1L box of milk in the fridge especially when you offer guests coffee. I know it's self-catering, I'm just suggesting...

Very well equipped. Just a pity loadshedding had me burst out in sweat during the night when the aircon didn't operate. But that is South Africa....

Mosquitos! An promised could were unavailable but we survived

The location was great. It was clean and nicely made up when we got there. The pool was great! The rooms with airconditioners in were very nice and beds were comfortable. The outside braai area is very spacious with a nice size braai. Every room bar one all had en suite bathrooms. Staff were friendly.

There were a thousand mosquitoes and no catering for it i.e. citronella lamps/candels. After the first night we urgently went and bought our own. 1 of the rooms had no airconditioner. If we were 4 couples that would have been a massive problem. The bathroom of the room that has its door on the right just before you enter the kitchen, smelled like a sewege farm. The braai is falling apart due to rust. The room with its door on the right as you enter the house has a “security gate” between it and the outside bathroom that was loose due to poor fixing onto the wooden doorframe, also a faulty lock that was a headace to unlock. We had to get the agent to come and help us. We had to buy our own black bags for the bin.

Great location! Such a beautiful well maintained older house

The old style Karoo house. This is a large house with lots of space. You can see that the hostess took care of everything - even the smallest detail. Everything we needed was available.

If I have to find fault is will be that the water in the splash pool was not sparkling clean but with 40degrees C we still used it.
