Karoo House Collection - Riverdene Lodge

What a special spot! We absolutely loved our stay on this beautiful, comfortable, quiet farm. It was close enough for us to enjoy day trips to Graaf Reniet and Nieu Bethesda (and we strongly recommend the fossil museums in both towns for youger kids!), but offered a lovely peaceful spot to call our own. Walks into the kloofs, and late night family chats under the Karoo sky, around the fire pit were a highlight.

This is a beautifully appointed comfortable farm cottage with huge rooms and a lovely kitchen, beautiful private garden . Hosts are super friendly helpful and relaxed. A fantastic find in the middle of the karoo.

The hosts, Kelly and Dale, went above and beyond what we expected. We loved the location, the decor, the tranquility, and the comfort. We chose this guest house due to its proximity to Nieu-Bethesda, as we wanted to visit the Owl House. Dale informed us about the full moon, and in the Karoo, this is even more special to appreciate. Kelly and Dale are extremely interesting individuals with a hands-on approach, and their communication was impeccable. Highly recommended if visiting the Karoo.

Firstly, we loved everything. Unfortunately, we had car problems when we left the farm, and if it weren't for Dale and Kelly's help, we would have been stranded in the heat. They helped us get a tow truck, arranged alternative accommodation in Graaf Reinet, and ferried our family into town. More, we could not expect.

Perfectly positioned with 360-degree views. Peaceful, tranquil, quiet. Lovely birdlife. Gorgeous sunsets and sunrises - the skies are incredible. The house has a perfect layout with the most wonderful patio and gorgeous garden. The house is flat and easy to access and navigate. Rooms are very spacious and well furnished with no clutter. Most comfortable beds, lovely linen, freshest thickest towels, beautiful curtains and blinds. More than ample parking. The shower is spacious with perfect water pressure and a lovely shower head. Attention to detail is incredible (tea, coffee, milk, salt, pepper, soap, hand cream, cold water, ice, books etc). Nothing is extra and nothing is missing. Kitchen has everything you could wish for. Simple design tastefully balances the treasures of the past with the conveniences of today. Spotlessly clean, safe, private. Time passes slowly.

I loved this property and felt very blessed to stay over.

Riverdene lodge is a beautiful and comfortable farmhouse. It's very quiet and peaceful.

Great to explore as part of stop over. Town have great options for breakfast, lunch and dinner

What we liked is amply covered in our ratings. Lovely location, excellent accommodation, charming helpful hosts, very good value for money.

The bedrooms are large. It would enhance the facilities if the rooms offered shelves and hanging space to put your stuff. Were this to be provided a rating of 10 would be warrented.
