Daisy Cottage

A lovely wee cottage very close to the harbour. It was small, but actually not as small as expected. Perfect for a night for us as a family of 4. Be be fine for a couple for more nights.

Lack of amenities if you’re not expecting it, but there’s plenty in local villages

Front door of the property is very shabby and the entrance is not good. Very small bedroom and bathroom, felt claustrophobic. No slip mat for the shower and the microwave did not heat up food, seems faulty. Quite a bit of noise from the residents in the upstairs flat. No contact at all from the host apart from sending code for key store.

The price is certainly its superpower. The hotel is by the coast. Although you don't have the view, it's a convenient place to start off your Fife Coastal Path hike from there. There're many kitchen facilities which bring some comfort if you plan to stay there longer. Upon arrival, the room was tidy and ready. Since we were hiking from Kirkcaldy, we were happy that we could check in ourselves at any time (though I needed to send a follow-up to get the code). Btw. there's a cafe just around the corner which serves great croissants!

In the living room, there're very low ceilings, perhaps made for hobbits. The bathroom is proud of a British evergreen, tiny shower, and you'd need a Ph.D. to get how the water heating system works. No shower gel was provided. The bed is small even for the hobbits, and the mattress is extremely unstable.

Exceptionally well maintained throughout the owner deserves credit for the property and cleanliness this stay was just perfect I hope to return soon highly recommend

Everything was available and clean. Nice location and very quiet.

The location was amazing peaceful and quite village, but still close enough to all the main spots such as st andrews. The flat was lovely and cosy and comfortable to stay in.

There was no toilet paper in the place so had to buy our own, Communication with host was awful, in the lead up to stay messages about check in and out times and best travel routes were completely ignored. As explained above check in and out times were not properly explained and on the morning we were due to leave we were rudely called upon and and without any introductions or pleasantries from the women were told to leave, when I explained we needed a couple of minutes to pack up our stuff that we were confused over the check out time the lady just turned her back in a huff and side check out is 10. In all my years as a traveller it's probably been my worst experience with a host. An is a shame because the place and location is perfect our stay was just let down by bad communication.
