Salgueiral Guest House Douro

Everything was arranged by host the best possible way. Even a lot of extra welcoming things: home made cookies, wine, crackers, honey, Portuguese national candies, jams , moose, coffee- I even May forget everything. Coffee machine, electric stove oven. Perfectly working fridge and a/c!!! Location is great- near supermarkets and free parking.

Everything was working, and very convenient. So nothing not to like.

The warm welcome, homemade goodies, and all the other little extras made our stay in the Douro Valley region the best! Nothing can beat this cute guesthouse and hospitality offered by Joaquim... We are grateful for such a wonderful stay!!

During our trip to the Douro Valley, we were amazed by the exceptional hospitality of the host. He welcomed us with warmth and care, showing generosity in everything – from recommendations to pleasant surprises. It was obvious he poured his heart into creating this place. The apartment itself was incredibly cozy and thoughtfully equipped: a fully stocked kitchen, a spacious living room, and many important little details. It was the perfect retreat for relaxation. We sincerely recommend this place to anyone seeking a homely atmosphere and an unforgettable experience in the Douro Valley.

Lovely people and quirky place

It had no outdoor aspect. Only a small seating area with no view. There was no natural lighting inside

The room is not big, but very warmly decorated! The bed was very comfortable, slept very well! The kitchen is fully equipped and easy to use, perfect for cooking your own meals while traveling! The host was very friendly and warm-hearted, and the communication was very pleasant. He also prepared a welcome dessert for us! He really tried to make a sweet home for us!
