Host & Stay - The Cottage, Marske

The location right by the beach was perfect, and it was only a short walk into the centre of Marske. The cottage had everything you would need. The beds were comfortable. There is also a great little suntrap of a rear courtyard garden.

I feel it could do with a little tlc in some areas - there were a few things that could do with fixing, such as a kitchen under cupboard light which was detached and a pipe cover that was merely propped up.

The pans! Poor, quality, not flat, burnt inside and totally inappropriate for the stove. Would be worth investing in 1 or 2 good quality, flat bottomed pans. Would use less electricity too.

Nothing, except the water temperature for the bath and shower and the bathroom radiator, were not warm enough.

Very well equipped cottage in an excellent location right by a lovely beach with clean sand in both directions. We walked to Saltburn one day and towards Redcar the next. Marske has a few independant shops and nice little bars plus a really good pizza place, and the train station wasn't too far away on foot.

Great location, perfect for walking down the beach and walking into Marske. lovely clean property.

The kitchen cupboards were so full of plates cups and glasses not a single shelf for putting your food. No hand rails on stairs.

Spacious lounge and kitchen, very comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped. Heating was easy to use. Lovely views and garden with seating to rear though we didn't use. Beds were comfortable, though one in rear bedroom was a bit low. Plenty of storage space. A good supply of toys games and books for all ages.

No parking adjacent to property made loading and unloading more difficult but able to park nearby. A handrail on stairs and chair in rear bedroom would have been helpful.

Super, quiet location with great views. Clean and comfortable - lots of space/seating in the living room. Visited in October and heating was effective- house was lovely and warm. No parking directly outside but we were able to drop bags off and park at the top of the slipway. This was my second visit and sure I’ll be back.

The shower was ok but not as powerful as we’d have liked. Couldn’t find a peeler or grater when cooking. Not deal breakers and certainly wouldn’t put me off staying again.
