SAND HILL COTTAGE 3 Bedroom Home near PURDUE! River & Park View

Beautiful newly renovated house located in a quite area surrounded by nature. Would love to stay here again!

The house was clean, cozy and location was beautiful.

There was nothing we didn’t like

The home had an extremely well stocked kitchen. Lots of seasonings and pots, pans, dishes needed to prepare meals for a family.

The home is on well water and the smell is very off putting. I was so excited about the jumbo tub door stairs, but the smell of the house water was a deal breaker. The shower upstairs had very poor water pressure making it difficult and lengthy to shower properly. The dryer at the home didn't work. Husband had to vacuum out the lint tray and straighten out the vent to get it to work. The futon couches were horribly uncomfortable. The home is very close to a very busy road with cars flying by around 50mph. Backing in and out of the property, pulling into traffic from the drive way was tricky considering the home is placed on a bend and you cant see what's coming around the bend. We hoped for a relaxing, quiet, comfortable home for our stay and it just was not it.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property during our trip for my sister’s graduation. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The house was beautifully maintained and even more spacious than we expected—it easily and comfortably accommodated all 8 of us. The layout of the house was perfect for a group. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax, but also great shared spaces where we could gather to eat, talk, and celebrate together. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook meals, and we loved having a dining area big enough for the whole family. The location was perfect, close to Purdue (10min drive) and Lafayette. The host was excellent—responsive, friendly, and proactive. Check-in was smooth, and they provided clear instructions and helpful local tips that made our stay even better. I especially appreciated the fast free wifi, free pack'n'plays, and washer and dryer in unit. This house truly felt like a home away from home. All in all, this home helped make our trip memorable and special. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay with family or a group.

There some spots between the windows that are dusty but not a big deal unless you have little kids running around and poking their fingers everywhere. Another down side was the temperature was uneven among the bedrooms and downstairs: we turned the AC to 74F but it felt hotter upstairs. Two of the three bedrooms have ceiling fans and the third one had nothing. The property is pretty quite mostly until cars/trucks drive by at 55 mph or more. We couldn't open the bedroom windows for ventilation because the cars would wake us and our daughters up. Most doors make too much noise especially the bedrooms'. Last thing, the microwave is having trouble sucking out the smoke from cooking, triggering the fire alarm multiple times during the day, even when we were just making scramble eggs and toasts.

Clean, Updated and Great Location! Such a lovely little gem with a front porch that I spent several peaceful hours on and a park/historic landmark right across the street. All modern appliances and fixtures throughout. The owners were very responsive, friendly and accommodating. Whether you're one person or a a group, you will love this place!

We loved the view and proximity to the park across the street. We spent every morning and evening on the rocking chairs on the front porch. Loved the ease of getting into the back door of unit. The unit was spotless inside.

The number one con would be the busy, fast road, and the parking situation. There is no room to turn around once you pull into the driveway, and instructions specify not to use the lawn for this. This means you have to either back out onto a road that has cars speeding by at 50mph on a curve, or back in initially -both inherently dangerous. This could be easily remedied by gravelling over a portion of the lawn for a 3 point turn. Along those same lines, the road is loud at night if you want to keep the windows open. The air conditioning doesn't reach the upstairs bedrooms well, and while there are ceiling fans, they were not sufficient to keep us cool at night.
