House was amazing and Marina was very efficient. Des and Lorraine were helpful.

Houses around us were being renovated or rebuilt. Alot of construction and it looked untidy and aesthetically displeasing.

The view from the cottage is really something special. The cottage is fully equipped and well appointed.

If I had been made aware at the time of the booking that you are not allowed to light a fire in the fire place, I would not have booked. I had two criteria for this weekend away - sipping wine in front of the fire and on site fishing. Apparently they don't have insurance and so cannot run the risk of fire. Very disappointed. The owner has provided an excellent heater but it is just not the same as having a cozy fire going. The fishing was also disappointing but that is no fault of the owner. I just don't think there are any bass in the dam. There were quite a few fishermen out on the water and no one had even a nibble. We were a family of 7 - three pensioners (in their late 60s and 70s), two adults and two children. The pensioners stayed in the two bedrooms downstairs which was fine expect it isn't clear that the bathroom is a Jack and Jill set up. So it can be rather awkward for the people sharing this space. The bathroom also does not have a shower. Yes, there is an outdoor shower but who (nevermind that these were grannies and a grandpa) want to stand outside and shower in the middle of July in the Berg. Yes, there is a shower attachment on the bath but getting into and out of a bath is impractical and actually dangerous for the aged. Coming upstairs to shower was not an option either because of mobility issues - again, this is not the owners fault but something that someone else should be aware of if they have aged/elderly guests coming to stay. The latch to the outdoor shower sticks/is very difficult to open. We did eventually get it open but having to access this space didn't affect us, because no one dared to shower outside but it's something to note. The latch to the folding doors by the dining room sticks and does not open. It would have been nice to open these doors but after three of us trying to unlock it, we gave up for fear of breaking the key off in the latch.

A fire was not allowed which is not normal in winter in the Berg ,due to fires in other chalets , there was also construction that ruined the quietness, no hiking trials in ,had to drive out to hike

The property was spacious, ideal for group travelers. More than enough bedrooms for 8 people

The gas on the heater ran out on our second evening and we couldn’t reach anyone to assist us with the refill or exchanging of the stove gas with the heater one

Beautifully designed home, fully equipped with everything you would need and more! Extensive selection of cutlery, crockery and placemats, comfy beds and plenty towels provided. Cleaning service provided by Zodwa daily was excellent and Des was also very helpful with providing suggestions of places to visit and prompt with attending to any queries. The views were breathtaking and the privacy of the unit compared to others in the area was definitely an added bonus. Loved our stay!

Just one thing that we needed was the bedroom upstairs needs a light in the shower area

The property was cosy and spacious for our group of 8, also appreciated the inverter and backup batteries.

The entrance to the house was muddy because of the rain,
